It is in the metro area of Richmond, Virginia. The elevation is at 131 feet. The Prince George County Courthouse Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. A census-designated place (CDP) is a concentration of population defined by the United States Census Bureau for statistical purposes only. Appomattox Regional Library system serves the city of Hopewell and Prince George and Dinwiddie counties in Virginia. The library system is within Region 2 of Virginia Library Association (VLA). Service area According to the FY 2014 Institute of Museum and Library Services Data Catalog, the Appomattox Regional Library System has a service area population of 86,625 with one central library and seven branch libraries. History The Appomattox Regional Library system started in 1930. Thomas B. Robertson created a library association. Prince George High School
Prince George High School is the only public high school in Prince George County, Virginia. The school has 1354 students. Prince George High School offers grades 10-12 rather than the traditional 9-12 high school. Construction on the current facility began in 1976 and it opened for the 1977–78 school year. It replaced an earlier facility across the road from it built in the 1950s, that it shares athletic facilities with. The old high school became Prince George Junior High School when the new high school opened in 1977, and has since been renamed N.B. Clements Junior High School. Interstate 295 (I-295) is a highway which runs eastwards and northwards bypass of the cities of Richmond and Petersburg in the U.S. state of Virginia. The southern terminus is an interchange with I-95 southeast of Petersburg. Prince George County Courthouse Historic District is a county courthouse complex and national historic district located at Prince George, Prince George County, Virginia. The district includes 11 contributing buildings and 3 contributing objects. They include the 1883 courthouse, 1900 clerk's office, the jail dated to about 1900, and three mid 20th century Colonial Revival-style office buildings.
