Kensington, Prince Edward Island
Kensington is a Canadian town located in Prince County, Prince Edward Island. It is northeast of the city of Summerside. In 2021, its population was 1,812. History The area was first known as Five Lanes End, as roads from five different communities converged at the point. It was renamed Barrett's Cross in 1824 after an early settler who established an inn in the area. In 1862, the town was renamed after Kensington Palace in London and it became a town after the Prince Edward Island Railway's mainline from Charlottetown to Summerside curved through the community. The town's former railyards are now rehabilitated as a tourist venue, with the former Kensington Railway Station designed by architect Charles Benjamin Chappell designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1976. Prince Edward Island National Park
Prince Edward Island National Park (french: Parc national de l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard) is a National Park of Canada located in the province of Prince Edward Island. Situated along the island's north shore, fronting the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the park measures approximately in length and ranges from several hundred metres to several kilometres in width. Established in 1937, the park's mandate includes the protection of many broad sand beaches, sand dunes and both freshwater wetlands and saltmarshes. Prince Edward Island Route 15 is a secondary highway in central Prince Edward Island. Route 15 follows Brackley Point Road beginning at the junction with the Charlottetown Perimeter Highway (Trans-Canada Highway, Route 1). North Rustico, Prince Edward Island
North Rustico is a Canadian town located in Queens County, Prince Edward Island. Situated on the north shore, North Rustico an incorporated municipality in 1954. North Rustico changed its status to a town on November 16, 2013. The town is known to locals, as well as many others as "The Crick". Its population as of the 2021 Census was 648 people. North Rustico is well known for its Canada Day celebration every year on July 1. The event usually attracts in excess of 10,000 people, which packs the town quite full. Route 13 is a two-lane uncontrolled access secondary highway traversing the central portion of Prince Edward Island, Canada in a more or less north–south direction between Crapaud and Cavendish.
