Prince Edward is an area between Tong Mi and Mong Kok surrounding Prince Edward station in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Named after Prince Edward Road West, the Prince Edward station of the MTR rapid transit, rapid transit system is an cross-platform interchange, interchange station on the Tsuen Wan line, Tsuen Wan and the Kwun Tong line, Kwun Tong lines. Location Prince Edward is located between southern part of Tong Mi and the northern part of Mong Kok on either side of Nathan Road, administratively under the Yau Tsim Mong District (until the mid-1990s part of the Mong Kok District). Yau Tsim Mong District is one of 18 districts of Hong Kong, located on the western part of Kowloon Peninsula. It is the core urban area of Kowloon. 2019 Prince Edward Station Attack
The 2019 Prince Edward station attack, also known as the 31 August MTR station incident (), was an incident in which Hong Kong police indiscriminately attacked passengers while arresting protesters who were returning home via Prince Edward station, on the night of 31 August 2019, after a protest was held that same day. The event was described as the police version of the 2019 Yuen Long attack, and the police have been criticised as acting like terrorists. Rumours have been circulated that several protesters were beaten to death at the station, but the police have rejected allegations. However, a mourning vigil was set up by a group of residents outside one exit of the station. It is known in Hong Kong as the 831 incident, after the date 31 August. Nathan Road
Nathan Road is the main thoroughfare in Kowloon, Hong Kong, aligned south–north from Tsim Sha Tsui to Sham Shui Po.
