The Primulaceae , commonly known as the primrose family (but not related to the Onagraceae, evening primrose family), are a family (biology), family of Herbaceous plant, herbaceous and woody flowering plants including some favourite garden plants and wildflowers. Most are Perennial plant, perennial though some species, such as Anagallis arvensis, scarlet pimpernel, are annual plant, annuals. Previously one of three families in the Order (biology), order Primulales, it underwent considerable genus, generic re-alignment once molecular phylogenetic methods were used for taxonomic classification. The order was then submerged in a much enlarged order Ericales and became a greatly enlarged Primulaceae ''sensu lato'' (''s.l''). In this new classification of the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group, each of the Prumulales families was reduced to the rank of subfamily of Primulaceae ''s.l.'' The Town of Primrose is located in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. As of 2018, the population was 731. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.8 square miles (92.8 km), all of it land. Demographics At the 2000 census there were 682 people, 243 households, and 192 families living in the town. The population density was 19.0 people per square mile (7.3/km). There were 252 housing units at an average density of 7.0 per square mile (2.7/km). The racial makeup of the town was 98.68% White, 0.44% African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.15% Asian, and 0.59% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.15%. Neil Primrose (musician)
Neil Primrose (born 20 February 1972) is the drummer of the Scottish rock quartet Travis. Biography Primrose was born in Cumbernauld. His father, a power station engineer, was posted to Middlesbrough, and this was followed by a series of moves across the northeast of England during the first ten years of Primrose's life. At the age of 15 in high school in Glasgow he was playing drums with friends in local bands. From the age of 17, the next step was going for as many auditions as possible and looking for like-minded players to form a group. This led to his joining the band ''Glass Onion'' with Andy Dunlop along with brothers Chris and Geoff Martyn in the early 1990s. After years of touring and looking for success, the line-up changed with Fran Healy eventually joining the line-up and the group then splitting with the Martyn brothers and bringing Dougie Payne in for bass guitar. Sir Henry William Primrose (22 August 1846 – 17 June 1923) was a Scottish civil servant. He joined HM Treasury, the Treasury in 1869, served as private secretary to the Viceroy of India from 1880 to 1884 and to William Ewart Gladstone, Gladstone in 1886. He was secretary of the Office of Works from 1887 to 1895. He became chairman of the Board of the Inland Revenue from 1899 to 1907. Primrose and West was an American blackface song-and-dance team made up of partners George Primrose and William H. "Billy" West. They later went into the business of minstrel troupe ownership with a refined, high-class approach that signaled the final stage in the development of minstrelsy as a distinct form of entertainment.
