Juan Bautista Agüero
Juan Bautista Agüero Sánchez (24 June 1935 – 27 December 2018) was a Paraguayan football striker. Career Agüero started his career at Olimpia Asunción, which was at the time coached by the great Aurelio González. There, Agüero won some national championships. He was later transferred to Sevilla FC of Spain, where he would spend 8 years, playing more than 100 games. For the 1965/1966, he signed for Real Madrid and had a brief stint in Granada CF. Agüero was part of the Paraguay national football team that qualified for and played in the 1958 FIFA World Cup, where he scored two goals for Paraguay. Rubén Evaristo Fernández Real (2 May 1931 – 9 October 2015) was a Paraguayan footballer who played as a forward. He captained the Paraguay national team which won the 1953 South American Championship. Club career Fernández was born in Villarrica, Paraguay. He started his career around 1946 in the youth divisions of Club Estero Bellaco in Villarrica. In 1950, he moved to Club Libertad. After winning the South American Championship with Paraguay, Fernández moved to Argentine club Boca Juniors, where he played from 1953 to 1956 and won the 1954 Argentine championship. He ended his career at San Lorenzo de Almagro, having played there from 1957 to 1958. International career Fernández was part of Paraguay’s squad for the 1953 South American Championship, playing all seven games and scoring four goals, including the third Paraguayan goal in the final against Brazil, enabling Paraguay to win the competition. Darío Jara Saguier (27 January 1930 – 22 January 2023) was a Paraguayan football player and coach who played as a striker. Dario is one of the seven Jara Saguier brothers that played professional football in Paraguay. Career As player Jara Saguier started his career in his hometown club Club Rubio Ñú in 1946 before moving to Cerro Porteño where he spent most of his career and became a key player. He was the 1st division topscorer two consecutive seasons (1949 and 1950), scoring 18 goals on each season. In 1960, after a long career with Cerro Porteño, Saguier went on to play for several Paraguayan clubs such as General Caballero ZC, Rubio Ñú, Luis Alberto de Herrera (Guarambaré) and Olimpia de Itá before retiring in 1965.
