The Primera División de Fútbol Profesional Clausura 2009 season (''officially known as "Torneo Clausura 2009"''), started on January 31, 2009, and concluded on May 24, 2009. A.D. Primera División De Fútbol De El Salvador
The ''Primera División'' of the (''Professional Football League''), more commonly known as ''La Liga Mayor'' or ''La Primera'', is the top professional association football, football league in El Salvador. It was established in 1969, and in 2011 had 10 clubs. Initially the league was run as a year-long tournament, but since 1998 there are two tournaments each year, much like in many other football leagues in the Americas. The Apertura season runs from August to December, while the Clausura season runs from February to July. Competition format La Liga Mayor follows the usual double Round-robin tournament, round-robin format. During the course of a given season (Apertura or Clausura), each club plays every other club twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 22 games. Carlos Romeo Monteagudo Alfaro (born April 29, 1985) is a Salvadoran professional footballer. Dennis Jonathan Alas Morales (born 10 January 1985 in San Salvador) is a Salvadoran former association football player. He was banned for life in 2013, for match fixing while playing for the El Salvador national football team. He is the older brother of El Salvador national team member Jaime Alas. José Eduardo Campos Barahona (born March 15, 1983, in Usulután, El Salvador) is a Salvadoran footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Luis Ángel Firpo in the Primera División de Fútbol de El Salvador. Manuel Alejandro Salazar Rivas (born January 23, 1986 in San Salvador) is a retired Salvadoran professional footballer. He represented the El Salvador. Víctor Samuel Turcios Pacheco (born April 13, 1988 in La Unión) is a retired Salvadoran footballer who last played for Alianza F.C. Juan José Gómez (born November 8, 1980 in San Miguel, El Salvador) is a Salvadoran retired professional goalkeeper. He is currently working as part of a sports narration staff for the private sports channel Tigo Sports based in El Salvador. José Alexander Amaya del Cid (born January 4, 1975, in San Salvador, El Salvador) is a retired Salvadoran professional footballer. Club career Amaya started his professional career with Águila during the 1997–1998 season. He remained there until 1999.
