Andy Priaulx
Andrew Graham Priaulx, MBE ( born 8 August 1974) is a British professional racing driver from Guernsey. In 2019 he raced for Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK in the FIA World Endurance Championship, and Cyan Racing Lynk & Co in the FIA World Touring Car Cup, having been a former BMW factory driver. He is a European Touring Car Championship champion, three times World Touring Car Championship champion and the only FIA Touring Car champion to win an international-level championship for four consecutive years (2004 to 2007). The previous record was Roberto Ravaglia's three successive championships (1986–1988). Priaulx Rainier
Ivy Priaulx Rainier (3 February 190310 October 1986) was a South African-British composer. Although she lived most of her life in England and died in France, her compositional style was strongly influenced by the African music remembered from her childhood. She never adopted 12-tone or serial techniques, but her music shows a profound understanding of that musical language. She can be credited with the first truly athematic works composed in England. Her Cello Concerto was premiered by Jacqueline du Pré in 1964, and her Violin Concerto ''Due Canti e Finale'' was premiered by Yehudi Menuhin in 1977. Priaulx League
The Priaulx League is the senior football league on the island of Guernsey, and is run by the Guernsey Football League Management LBG, (prior to 2016 the Guernsey Football Association). Although the league is affiliated with the English FA, it does not form a part of the English football league system. The winners of the Priaulx League go on to play the champions of the Jersey Combination for the Upton Park Trophy. History The competition was first held in 1893; it is named in honour of O. Priaulx of Bury St. Edmunds, who donated £5 to purchase a trophy. There are two other league competitions on the island (the Jackson League and Veterans League), but there is no promotion or relegation into or from these leagues. Priaulx Library
The Priaulx Library, located in St Peter Port, Guernsey, contains the island's principal collection of local and family history. History The library building, Candie House, and its initial collection of books were donated to the island by Osmond de Beauvoir Priaulx in 1889. The initial collection included references on European, Classical and Oriental literature, military history and local genealogy Genealogy () is the study of families, family history, and the tracing of their lineages. Genealogists use oral interviews, historical records, genetic analysis, and other records to obtain information about a family and to demonstrate kin .... The building was subsequently extended and the collection enlarged with material covering all aspects of Guernsey history.
