Liz Goldwyn (born December 25, 1976) is an American filmmaker, artist, and writer. Personal life Goldwyn was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of writer Peggy Elliott Goldwyn and film producer Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. Goldwyn's paternal grandparents were movie mogul Samuel Goldwyn and film actress Frances Howard. She is the half-sister of actor Tony Goldwyn and producer John Goldwyn. Goldwyn attended School of Visual Arts in New York City where she received a B.F.A degree in Photography with a minor in Art History. Career Liz Goldwyn is a writer, filmmaker and artist living and working in Los Angeles. She is the writer and director of the documentary ''Pretty Things'' (HBO, 2005.) Betty Rowland
Betty Jane Rowland (January 23, 1916 – April 3, 2022) was an American burlesque dancer and actress, with a career spanning over eight decades. She was the last living performer of the "Golden Age of Burlesque" era. Early life Rowland was born to Alvah and Ida Rowland on January 23, 1916, in Columbus, Ohio. Her father was an accountant who lost his job during the Great Depression. Betty and her sisters Dian and Roz Elle all started out as dancers in vaudeville before making the transition into burlesque. Career Betty Rowland performed at the famous club Minsky's in New York City, where she earned the nickname "Ball of Fire" from both her flaming red hair and hot and fast style of dancing. She moved to Los Angeles, California in 1938. By 1941, the fresh-faced Rowland was established as a burlesque star. Sherry Britton
Edith Zack (July 28, 1918 – April 1, 2008), better known by the stage name Sherry Britton, was an American burlesque performer of the 1930s and early 1940s. The Britton had an waist, and was once said to have a "figure to die for." Legend has it that she decided on her stage name when she saw a bottle of Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry while passing through a liquor store. Biography Britton performed in many theaters and clubs during the Golden Age of burlesque. She once said, "I despised burlesque." However, she did enjoy stripping in nightclubs, like Leon & Eddie's where she was a regular for seven years. She stripped to classical music, wore lovely long gowns and tiaras and crowns. When burlesque went by the wayside due to the NYC ban in 1940, Britton turned to the stage, eventually appearing in almost forty plays.
