President Of The United Malays National Organisation
The President of the United Malays National Organisation or President of UMNO (Malay: ''Presiden Pertubuhan Kebangsaan Melayu Bersatu'' or ''Presiden UMNO'') is the highest position of the largest and oldest party in Malaysia. Since 30 June 2018, the office has been held by Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The President of the United Malays National Organisation is supported by a deputy president who, since 2018, has been Mohamad Hasan. Furthermore, the president is supported by three vice presidents, currently holding by Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Mahdzir Khalid, and Mohamed Khaled Nordin. The United Malays National Organisation (Malay: ; Jawi: ; abbreviated UMNO () or less commonly PEKEMBAR), is a nationalist right-wing political party in Malaysia. As the oldest continuous national political party within Malaysia (since its inception in 1946), UMNO has once been called Malaysia's "Grand Old Party". UMNO is a founding and the principal dominant member of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, which taken along with its predecessor Alliance, had been the main governing party of Malaysia from the independence of Malaya in 1957 until its defeat in the 2018 general election. Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah ( ms, تونكو عبد الرحمن ڤوترا الحاج ابن سلطان عبد الحميد حليم شاه, label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset; 8 February 19036 December 1990) was a Malaysian statesman and lawyer who served as the 1st Prime Minister of Malaysia and the head of government of its predecessor states from 1955 to 1970.
