President's Cup 1997–98
The Kenya Cricket Association President's Cup was a three team ODI cricket tournament that was held in Kenya during the 1997–98 season. The series was a best of three games and Zimbabwe lifted the trophy after winning the first two finals. It was Zimbabwe's first silverware since receiving Test status in 1992. In the first final, Alistair Campbell won the toss and sent Kenya into field. Openers Grant and Andy Flower put on 154 for the first wicket to help Zimbabwe to 281 for 8 from their 50 overs. One Day International
A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited-overs competition. The international one day game is a late-twentieth-century development. The first ODI was played on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Maurice Odumbe
Maurice Omondi Odumbe (born 15 June 1969) is a former Kenyan cricketer and a former ODI captain for Kenya. Odumbe was suspended from cricket in August 2004 after he allegedly received money from bookmakers. He was appointed the coach of the Kenya national cricket team in April 2018. However, he was replaced as national coach by David Obuya in October 2018. Thomas Odoyo
Thomas Odoyo Migai (born 12 May 1978) is a former Kenyan cricketer and a former One Day International captain. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-handed medium-fast bowler, often regarded as the best ever bowler produced by Kenya in international arena. Dipak Nanalal Chudasama (born 20 May 1963) is a former Kenyan cricketer of Indian Gujarati origin. He was a right-handed batsman. Joseph Oduol Angara (born 8 November 1971) is a former Kenyan cricketer who played One Day Internationals for Kenyan national team between 1997 and 2003, including at the 1999 and 2003 World Cups. Sheikh Salahuddin Ahmed (10 February 1969 – 29 October 2013) was a Bangladeshi international cricketer. He was born in Rajapur, Khulna, and played in six One Day Internationals (ODIs) in 1997.
