Preshil Hall Three
Preshil School, also known as The Margaret Lyttle Memorial School, is an independent progressive co-educational, day school located in Kew, an eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The original Arlington campus houses the Kindergarten and Primary school, while the Secondary School is located at the Blackhall Kalimna campus. The campuses are located on Barkers Road and Sackville Street respectively. Established in 1931 by Greta Lyttle (and later, Margaret E. Lyttle), Preshil teaches a progressive curriculum, and is Australia's oldest progressive school. The school caters for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12. In 2017 the school phased out the Victorian Certificate of Education in favour of the International Baccalaureate programme. Independent School
An independent school is independent in its finances and governance. Zahava Elenberg
Zahava Elenberg is an Australian architect. She co-founded Melbourne-based architecture practice Elenberg Fraser and is the founder of turn-key accommodation fit out and interior furnishing company Move-in. Early years Zahava is the daughter of Anna Schwartz and artist Joel Elenberg (deceased). She is the step daughter of publisher and developer Morry Schwartz. Zahava attended Preshil, The Margaret Lyttle Memorial School and has been a Director of the Preshil School Council and the Preshil School Foundation. She completed a Bachelor of Architecture at RMIT University and graduated in 1998 with first class honours. Sue Richardson (economist)
Sue Richardson (born 1946) is an Australian economist and academic. She has been a Matthew Flinders Distinguished Professor at Flinders University since 2012. Early life and education Richardson was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1946. After completing her secondary education at St Catherine's School in Toorak, she took a BCom at the University of Melbourne in 1968. In 1976 she received a PhD from La Trobe University for her thesis "An economic model of government choice and its application to problems of federalism". Career Richardson's academic career began as economics tutor at La Trobe University. Following completion of her PhD, she was employed by the University of Adelaide as a lecturer and was promoted to reader in 1991. Catherine Anne Money
Catherine Anne Money ( Menzies; born 18 August 1940) is an Australian biochemist whose discoveries have changed leather making. By introducing a freezing process, she simplified the preparation of hides in Australian tanneries. Her simplified approach which minimise tannery effluents and maximises hide quality is now used globally. Early life and schooling Catherine Money (née Menzies) was born in Melbourne, Victoria to Sir Douglas Menzies, Justice of the High Court of Australia, and Helen Jean Borland, a community worker and kindergarten teacher, in 1940. John Gorton
Sir John Grey Gorton (9 September 1911 – 19 May 2002) was an Australian politician who served as the nineteenth Prime Minister of Australia, in office from 1968 to 1971. He led the Liberal Party during that time, having previously been a long-serving government minister. Gorton was born out of wedlock and had a turbulent childhood. He studied at Brasenose College, Oxford, after finishing his secondary education at Geelong Grammar School, and then returned to Australia to take over his father's property in northern Victoria. Gorton enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force in 1940, and served as a fighter pilot in Malaya and New Guinea during the Second World War. He suffered severe facial injuries in a crash landing on Bintan Island in 1942, and whilst being evacuated, his ship was torpedoed and sunk by a Japanese submarine. Lisa Gorton
Lisa Gorton (born 1972) is an Australian poet, novelist, literary editor and essayist. She is the author of three award-winning poetry collections: ''Press Release'', ''Hotel Hyperion'' '','' and ''Empirical''. Her novel ''The Life of Houses,'' received the NSW Premier's People's Choice Award for Fiction, and the Prime Minister's Award for Fiction (shared). North Melbourne Football Club
The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is a professional Australian rules football club. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Kangaroos also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Founded in the suburb of North Melbourne in 1869 and based at the Arden Street Oval, it is the 4th oldest club in the competition and one of the oldest surviving clubs in the world.
