Sister Mary Paul Mulquin
Sister Mary Paul Mulquin (1842 – 10 February 1930) was a Roman Catholic nun and educationalist born in Adare, Limerick, Ireland. Born Katherine Mulquin to John Mulquin, a landowner, and his wife Catherine, née Sheehy, she changed her name in 1863 once she became a member of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary, a Roman Catholic religious order. In 1873, she travelled to Australia with six other nuns on board the , arriving in Melbourne on 21 December 1873. While on board, she kept a diary which recorded her daily life. In Australia, she helped to found a Presentation Convent and College in St Kilda, Victoria. She died aged about 88 and is buried in St Kilda Cemetery, alongside the other nuns who travelled together. Sister Mary Paul retired in 1890. Sheila Florance
Sheila Mary Florance (24 July 1916 – 12 October 1991) was an Australian theatre, television and film actress. She was best known for her performance as elderly, alcoholic convict Lizzie Birdsworth in the television series ''Prisoner''. Florance, born in Melbourne, Victoria, married an Englishman in 1934 and sailed to London. She spent World War II in England. Her early career was based on the London stage. Her first husband died in action following the 1944 Normandy landings. Returning to Australia in 1948, where she started performing locally as a theatre actress, before entering films and television series. Florance had a reputation as a teller of extraordinary stories and in the 1950s she was known for her house parties. Florance died in 1991 from lung cancer, a week after receiving the AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her final film. Katherine Louise Bourke is an Australian lawyer and judge. She has been a Judge of the County Court of Victoria since December 2007. Biography Judge Bourke was born in Melbourne on 5 July 1961. She is one of five children, all girls, of Dr John Bourke . Bourke was educated by the Presentation Sisters, first at O'Neill College and then at Presentation Convent. She was dux of her school in her final year, and finished in the top hundred students in the state. She subsequently studied Arts and Laws at the University of Melbourne, graduating B.A and LL.B. Jana Bohumila Wendt ( ; born 9 May 1956) is an Australian Gold Logie award-winning television journalist, reporter and writer. Early life Wendt was born in Melbourne to Czech parents who emigrated to Australia in 1949. Ignatius of Loyola, S.J. Stanisław Kostka S.J. (28 October 1550 – 15 August 1568) was a Polish novice of the Society of Jesus. He is venerated in the Catholic Church as Saint Stanislaus Kostka (as distinct from his namesake, the 11th-century Bishop of Kraków Stanislaus the Martyr). Venerable Honora Nagle ( – 26 April 1784), known informally as Nano Nagle, was a pioneer of Roman Catholic education in Ireland despite legal prohibitions. She founded the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (PBVM), commonly known as the Presentation Sisters, now a worldwide Catholic institute of women religious.
