''Presencias'' () is a 2022 Mexican horror thriller film directed by Luis Mandoki and written by Olivia Bond. Starring Alberto Ammann and Yalitza Aparicio. It premiered in the United States, Mexico, and Spanish-speaking territories on September 7, 2022, on Vix+. Synopsis Víctor Constantino returns to his father's cabin where he spent a good part of his childhood and where his younger sister drowned. Now it is his duty to sell it, but he did not expect someone (or something) to murder his pregnant wife. After this event, Victor does not remember what happened, but he is determined to find the person responsible along with Paulina, an independent young woman with good intentions, and María, who was his nanny. Yalitza Aparicio Martínez (; born 11 December 1993) is a Mexican actress and preschool teacher. She made her film debut as Cleo in Alfonso Cuarón's 2018 drama ''Roma'', which earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. In 2019, ''Time'' magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. On 4 October 2019, she was named the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Indigenous Peoples. Early life Yalitza Aparicio Martínez was born 11 December 1993 in Tlaxiaco, Oaxaca. Her parents are of indigenous origin; her father is Mixtec and her mother is Triqui. Luis Mandoki (born August 17, 1954) is a Mexican film director working in Mexico and Cinema of the United States, Hollywood. Luis Mandoki studied Fine Arts in Mexico and at the San Francisco Art Institute, the London College of Printing, and the London International Film School. While attending this last institution he directed his first short film ''Silent Music'' which won an award at the International Amateur Film Festival of Cannes Film Festival in 1976. Back in Mexico he directed short films and documentaries for the Instituto Nacional Indigenista (the National Institute for the Indigenous), Conacine (National Commission of Film) and the Centro de Produccion de Cortometraje (Center for the Production of Short Films).
