Preparation Series
The Preparation Series was a South African rugby union tournament organised by SA Rugby. The tournament was used to be a number of preparation fixtures were announced by SA Rugby. It served as preparation for the 2021 British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa and South African teams entering the Pro14 Rainbow Cup, who had missed out on significant rugby game time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 8 sides took part in the competition; the four joining the Pro14 Rainbow Cup (the , the , the and the ), along with the , and , who had taken part in Super Rugby Unlocked and the 2020–21 Currie Cup Premier Division, and the who had not played any competitive rugby since the 2019 Currie Cup First Division. Although there was no trophy for this tournament, the ended up in top spot in Pool A and the topped in pool B. Marius Van Der Westhuizen
Marius van der Westhuizen (born 6 January 1984) is a South African professional rugby union referee, currently on the Premier Panel of the South African Rugby Referees' Association. He is well known for his dominant match involvement and for ensuring his home team the Bulls get the rub of the green, whenever possible. Early career Van Der Westhuizen was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He started his refereeing career in 2007 and refereed in matches in the leagues. 2021 British & Irish Lions Tour To South Africa
The 2021 British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa was an international rugby union tour that took place in South Africa in July and August 2021. The British & Irish Lions, a team selected from players eligible to represent England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales, played a three-match test series against South Africa, and tour matches against three of South Africa's four United Rugby Championship teams and South Africa A. The COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted the tour, leading to numerous schedule changes and the matches in South Africa taking place without fans present. Before leaving for South Africa, the Lions beat Japan in a warm-up match at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. Leolin Lucien Zas (born 20 October 1995) is a South African rugby union player for the in Super Rugby and in the Currie Cup and the in the Rugby Challenge. His regular position is winger and centre. Career Youth / Boland / South African Schools Zas was selected by the to represent them at the Under-18 Craven Week competition held in Polokwane in 2013. Rosko Shane Specman (born 28 April 1989) is a South African rugby union player for the in Super Rugby, the in the Currie Cup and the in the Rugby Challenge. Ruan Pienaar (born 10 March 1984) is a South African professional rugby union player who currently plays either as a scrum-half or as a fly-half for the in the Currie Cup. François Steyn
François Philippus Lodewyk Steyn (born 14 May 1987) is a South African professional rugby union player who currently plays for the South Africa national team and Cheetahs (rugby union) in Pro 14. He usually plays at inside centre, fullback or wing. Steyn is one of only two South African rugby players to have won the Rugby World Cup twice, with both achieving them twelve years apart.
