Precious Heritage Art Gallery Museum
The Precious Heritage Art Gallery and Cultural Museum is a museum in Hoi An, Vietnam. Inaugurated on 1 January 2017, the museum presents the diverse cultures of Vietnam's ethnic groups through large-scale portraits, traditional costumes, stories and public education. The Precious Heritage Museum is the culmination of the Precious Heritage Project, a photographic endeavor undertaken over a decade by the French photographer Réhahn. Mission The mission of the Precious Heritage Art Gallery and Museum is to promote the preservation and importance of Vietnam's ethnic groups through cultural understanding and respect. Origin Réhahn began the Precious Heritage Project while voyaging through North Vietnam as a travel photographer in 2011. Hội An
Hội An (), formerly known as Fai-Fo or Faifoo, is a city with a population of approximately 120,000 in Vietnam's Quảng Nam Province and is noted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. Réhahn
Réhahn (born on 4 May 1979 in Bayeux in Normandy, France) is a French photographer based in Hoi An, Vietnam. Known as the photographer that "captures souls", he is recognized for his portraits of Vietnam, Cuba, Malaysia and India, and for his cultural preservation work. In 2011, he launched ''The Precious Heritage Project'' with the goal of increasing recognition of Vietnam's diverse tribes through stories examples of their craftsmanship, and large scale portraits of each group in their traditional clothing. The project explores the histories as well as the changing futures of the tribes as globalization and development alter their homelands and subsequently their traditions. Sa Pa (, also written as Sapa) is a district-level town of Lào Cai Province in the Northwest region of Vietnam. As of 2018, the town had a population of 61,498. The town covers an area of 677 km2. Indigo dye is an organic compound with a distinctive blue color. Hmong People
The Hmong people ( RPA: ''Hmoob'', Nyiakeng Puachue: , Pahawh Hmong: , ) are a sub-ethnic group of the Miao people who originated from Central China. The modern Hmongs presently reside mainly in Southwest China (Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Chongqing, and Guangxi) and countries in Southeast Asia such as Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar.
