Tårnby Curling Club
Tårnby () is a town in Denmark, the seat of Tårnby Municipality in the Capital Region of Denmark. It is located approximately south of central Copenhagen on the island of Amager. Neighbouring settlements include the Copenhagen suburb of Sundbyvester to the north and Kastrup to the south. Copenhagen Airport is situated to the east of Tårnby. It includes the islets Saltholm and Peberholm. History There's no clear date for the founding of Tårnby, but archaeological expeditions prior to the building of the Øresund Bridge suggest that the first traces of Tårnby originated around the 12th century around a farm from which the village grew. In the 16th century, Danish King Christian II invited Dutch settlers to Amager. That made Tårnby, like the neighbouring city of Dragør, also have some traces of Dutch history and culture. 2015 World Wheelchair Curling Championship – Qualification Event
The qualification event of the 2015 World Wheelchair Curling Championship was held from November 1 to 6, 2014 at the Lillehammer Curling Club in Lillehammer, Norway. The qualification event was open to any World Curling Federation member nation not already qualified for the World Championship. The event's two top finishers, Norway and Germany, will join the top eight finishers from the last World Wheelchair Curling Championship at this season's event in Lohja, Finland. This event would have marked the first appearance of Israel at an international wheelchair curling event, but Israel was deemed ineligible to play due to an inability to meet classification criteria. The qualification event of the 2013 World Wheelchair Curling Championship was held from November 3 to 8, 2012 at the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja, Finland, which hosted the qualification tournaments for the past two World Wheelchair Curling Championships. The qualification event was open to any World Curling Federation affiliated national team not already qualified. The event's two top finishers, Norway and Finland, will join the top 8 finishers from the last World Wheelchair Curling Championship at this season's event in Sochi, Russia. Of the 11 teams that competed, Italy and Norway last competed at the Worlds in 2012, Germany and the Czech Republic in 2011, Switzerland in 2009, Japan in 2008, Denmark in 2007, and Poland in 2005. The qualification event of the 2012 World Wheelchair Curling Championship was held from November 5 to 10, 2011 at the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja, Finland, which hosted the 2011 World Wheelchair Curling Championship – Qualification Event, qualification event for 2011 World Wheelchair Curling Championship, last year's World Wheelchair Championships. The event's two top finishers, Slovakia and Italy, qualified for the main tournament in Chuncheon City, South Korea.
