Prawit Wongsuwon
Prawit Wongsuwon ( th, ประวิตร วงษ์สุวรรณ, , ; born 11 August 1945) is a Thai politician who is serving as the First Deputy Prime Minister and previously served as Minister of Defence from 2008 to 2011 during the government of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiwa and from 2014 to 2019 in the first government of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha. He also previously served as the deputy chairman of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), a military junta which ruled Thailand from 2014 to 2019. From 2004 to 2005 he was the commander-in-chief of the Royal Thai Army (RTA). In 2022, he briefly became Acting Prime Minister of Thailand after Prayut was briefly suspended from carrying out his duties as Prime Minister of Thailand by the Constitutional Court of Thailand after the court agreed to take up the case on whether Prayut had exceeded the constitutional term limit for the office of Prime Minister. Pravit Rojanaphruk ( th, ประวิตร โรจนพฤกษ์; ) (born 1967) is a Thai journalist who works as a senior staff writer for ' ('fresh news'). He formerly wrote a regular column for ''The Nation'', an English-language newspaper in Thailand, but was pressured to resign due to his political opinions following the 2014 coup d'état. Before the military coup, he was a prominent champion of democracy and free expression and was consequently investigated several times. Immediately after the coup, he was arrested on a charge of lèse majesté and detained for a week. Since the coup, he has been critical of the ruling junta and its efforts to limit freedom. Pravit has been detained for "attitude adjustment" twice by the ruling junta and as of 2017, has sedition charges against him for Facebook posts he made earlier that year. Yodwanpadet Suwanwichit ( th, ยอดวันเผด็จ สุวรรณวิจิตร), born Pravit Suwanwichit (, 19 November 1961), is a Thai Muay Thai fighter and promoter, amateur boxer and Royal Thai Air Force group captain. He is a former Rajadamnern and Lumpinee champion, known by the ring names Wanpadet Sitkhrumai () and Wanpadet Phukrongfah (), among others. He won medals in boxing at the 1987 and 1989 SEA Games, and competed in the men's light welterweight event at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
