Pravin Jadhav
Pravin Ramesh Jadhav (born 6 July 1996) is an Indian archer who competes in the recurve discipline, supported by OGQ. At the 2019 World Archery Championships, he was a member of the first Indian team to qualify for the final since 2005; the team received the silver medal. Early life Jadhav was born on 6 July 1996 into a family of daily wage labourers. His family lived in a shack near a drain in the drought-prone village of Sarade in Satara district. Jadhav would sometimes accompany his father to work in the farm, during his teenage years. Interested in sports from his childhood, Jadhav participated in 800 meters at district level, but did not have enough stamina as a result of being undernourished. His school teacher Vikas Bhujbal then bore the expenses for his training and diet, resulting in better performances and selection in the Krida Parbodhini school. Havaldar
Havildar or havaldar ( Hindustani: or (Devanagari), (Perso-Arabic)) is a rank in the Indian, Pakistani and Nepalese armies, equivalent to sergeant. It is not used in cavalry units, where the equivalent is daffadar. Like a British sergeant, a havildar wears three rank chevrons. History "Havildar" is a Persian word in origin and means "person in charge", or more loosely "chief", from the Arabic ("charge", "responsibility") and the Persian (dâr, "holder"). Historically, a havildar was a senior commander, being in charge of a fort during the times of the Mughal Empire. Compound Archery
In modern archery, a compound bow is a bow that uses a levering system, usually of cables and pulleys, to bend the limbs. In general, compound bows are widely used in target practice and hunting. The pulley/cam system grants the user a mechanical advantage, and so the limbs of a compound bow are much stiffer than those of a recurve bow or longbow. This rigidity makes the compound bow more energy-efficient than other bows, as less energy is dissipated in limb movement. The higher-rigidity, higher-technology construction also improves accuracy by reducing the bow's sensitivity to changes in temperature and humidity. The pulley/cam system also confers a benefit called "let-off." As the string is drawn back, the cams rotate. The cams are eccentric rather than round, and so their effective radius changes as they rotate. Tarundeep Rai
Tarundeep Rai (born 22 February 1984, in Namchi, Sikkim, India) is an Indian archer. He is conferred with the Padma Shri, in 2021, by the Government of India, for his contribution in Sports. Earlier, in 2018, he was awarded the Khel Ratan Award. Career Tarundeep made his debut in international archery at the age of 19 years when he played at the Asian Archery Championship 2003 held at Yangon, Myanmar. Tarundeep Rai won India their maiden individual silver medal in archery at the Asian Games at the 16th Asian Games on 24 November 2010 in Guangzhou, China. He was a member of the Indian archery team that won the bronze medal at the 15th Asian Games in Doha in 2006. At the 2004 Summer Olympics, Tarundeep was placed 32nd in the men's individual ranking round with a 72-arrow score of 647.
