Prakashpur
Prakashpur is a small town in Sunsari District in the Koshi Zone in southeastern Nepal.It lies in ward no.10 of Barahakshetra municipality.It is near the Indo-Nepal border.It is famous for its beautiful and peaceful environment. Most of the people come here to visit Koshi river which is one of the longest river in Nepal. It is also famous for its diversity in culture. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census, Prakashpur had a population of 11,110 people living in 1987 households, primarily employed in agriculture. Geography Prakashpur city is near the Indo-Nepal-China Tibet border, south of Mount Everest, Southwest of Dharan, in Sunsari district of Koshi zone, Nepal. Mahendranagar, Kosi
Barah Nagarpalika previously Mahendranagar is a municipality in Sunsari District in the Kosi Zone of south-eastern Nepal. It is situated near the Koshi River. Most of the residents, as is common in Nepal, depend on agriculture but in the last few years the trend of going to the Persian Gulf region as workers is increasing. The town is yet to have any prominent business houses but is a growing market with a number of small industries, hotels and shops. Being linked with some major cities, Dharan & Itahari of the Sunsari District, this town holds a very good chance of development. There is one community radio station also, named Sunsari FM. There are a number of schools and a higher secondary school in the town and almost all the children go to primary school and higher school. Dumraha is a village development committee in Sunsari District in the Kosi Zone of south-eastern Nepal. Barahachhetra (also Barahakshetra or Varahakshrata; ne, वराहक्षेत्र) is a Hindu and Kirat piligram site which remains between the confluence of Koka and Koshi rivers in Barahakshetra, Sunsari of Province No. 1, Nepal. This place is one of Nepal's oldest shrines mentioned in Puranas including Brahma Purana, Varaha Purana and Skanda Purana and even mentioned and glorified in the Mahabharata epic. Ramdhuni is a municipality located in the Sunsari district, Koshi Zone of Eastern Nepal. It was established in 2014. Ramdhuni previously known as Jhumka Bazar. Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve
The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is a protected area in the Terai of eastern Nepal covering of wetlands in the Sunsari, Saptari and Udayapur Districts. It comprises extensive reed beds and freshwater marshes in the floodplain of the Kosi River, and ranges in elevation from . It was established in 1976 and designated as a Ramsar site in December 1987. It hosts Nepal's last remaining herd of the wild water buffalo (''Bubalus arnee''). History During 1997 to 1998, an interview survey was conducted in the Paschim Kasuha VDC adjacent to the east of the reserve to investigate the extent of park–people conflict. The findings showed that wild water buffalo and wild boar were major crop raiders between September and February. Large numbers of cattle were found grazing freely inside the reserve. Koshi River
The Kosi or Koshi ( ne, कोशी, , hi, कोसी, ) is a transboundary river which flows through China, Nepal and India. It drains the northern slopes of the Himalayas in Tibet and the southern slopes in Nepal. From a major confluence of tributaries north of the Chatra Gorge onwards, the Kosi River is also known as Saptakoshi ( ne, सप्तकोशी, ) for its seven upper tributaries. These include the Tamor River originating from the Kanchenjunga area in the east and Arun River and Sun Kosi from Tibet.
