Pradeshiya Sabha
There are 276 Pradeshiya Sabhas in Sri Lanka, which are the legislative bodies that preside over the third tier municipalities in the country. Introduced in 1987 through the 13th Amendment to the Constitution of Sri Lanka, Pradeshiya Sabhas became a devolved subject under the Provincial Councils in the Local Government system of Sri Lanka. The Pradeshiya Sabhas collectively govern approximately 16,726,000 people. There are 3,624 Councillors in total, ranging from 5 to 23 per council. Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha
Gampaha (Sinhala: ගම්පහ ; Tamil: கம்பஹா ) is an urban city in Gampaha District, Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is situated to the north-east of the capital Colombo. It is the sixth largest urban area in Western Province, after Colombo, Negombo, Kalutara, Panadura and Avissawella. Gampaha is also the second largest municipal centre in Gampaha district, after Negombo. Gampaha has a land area of and is home to the offices of 75 government institutions. Wattala ( si, වත්තල, ta, வத்தளை) is a large suburb of Colombo city, in Western Province, Sri Lanka, situated around 9 km from Colombo city centre. This suburb is situated on A3 highway from Colombo to Negombo. Around Wattala, there are many villages and towns. People from all walks of life live in this area. The traditional fisher folk, large sections of the working class, many types of white collar workers, a fair number of professionals and even some richer folk live here. Minuwangoda ( si, මිනුවන්ගොඩ, ta, மினுவந்கொட) is a town in Gampaha district, governed by an Urban Council, situated near Negombo, Western Province of Sri Lanka.
