Pradeep Nepal
Pradeep Nepal ( ne, प्रदीप नेपाल; born 1954) is a Nepali communist politician belonging to CPN (Unified Socialist). He also a former government minister under Manmohan Adhikari cabinet. He has also a writer, and has published at least 16 novels and ten short stories collections. Early political career Born in January 1954, Nepal spent time in prison as a democracy activist during the Panchayat regime. Political life After the establishment of constitutional monarchy, he became the Minister of Information and Minister of Water Resources in 1994, and Minister of Health and Minister of Water Resources in 1999. Nepal lost the 2008 constituent assembly election to Nepali Congress' candidate Prakash Man Singh. He was the CPN (UML) candidate for Kathmandu-1 constituency. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology ( ne, शिक्षा, विज्ञान तथा प्रविधि मन्त्रालय) is a governmental body of Nepal responsible for the overall development of education in Nepal. The ministry is responsible for formulating educational policies and plans and managing and implementing them across the country through the institutions under it. In 2018, under the second Oli cabinet, the portfolio of the ministry was enlarged and the portfolios of ''Science and Technology'' were added to the then ''Ministry of Education'', while the ''Ministry of Science and Technology'' was discontinued. The Communist Party of Nepal ( ne, नेपाल कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी), abbreviated CPN, was a communist party in Nepal from 1949 to 1962. It was founded on 15 September 1949 to struggle against the autocratic Rana regime, feudalism, and imperialism. The founding general secretary was Pushpa Lal Shrestha. The founding members of the Communist Party of Nepal were Moti Devi Shrestha, Niranjan Govinda Vaidya, Nar Bahadur Karmacharya and Narayan Bilas Joshi.
