Pradeep K. Khosla
Pradeep Kumar Khosla (born March 13, 1957) is an Indian-American computer scientist and university administrator. Khosla was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 2006 for contributions to design and sensor-based control in robotic systems for the assembly of high-precision electronics and for leadership in engineering education. He is the current chancellor of the University of California, San Diego. He was appointed to the position by the president of the University of California, Mark Yudof, on May 3, 2012. His term began August 1, 2012, following the resignation of the previous chancellor Marye Anne Fox. A native of Mumbai (then Bombay), India, he was an electrical engineering professor and Dean of the Carnegie Mellon College of Engineering. He was also the Philip and Marsha Dowd University Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Robotics at Carnegie Mellon. Mark Yudof
Mark George Yudof (born October 30, 1944) is an American law professor and academic administrator. He is a former president of the University of California (2008-2013), former chancellor of the University of Texas System (2002–2008), and former president of the University of Minnesota (1997–2002). In addition to his position as Chancellor at The University of Texas, Yudof held the Charles Alan Wright Chair in Federal Courts at the University of Texas School of Law. Previously, he was a faculty member and administrator at The University of Texas at Austin for 26 years, serving as dean of the School of Law from 1984 to 1994 and as the university's executive vice president and provost from 1994 to 1997. Infosys Prize
The Infosys Prize is an annual award given to scientists, researchers, engineers and social scientists of Indian origin (not necessarily born in India) by the Infosys Science Foundation and ranks among the highest monetary awards in India to recognize research. The prize for each category includes a gold medallion, a citation certificate, and prize money of US$100,000 (or its equivalent in Indian Rupees).
