Prabodh Chandra Bagchi
Prabodh Chandra Bagchi ( bn, প্রবোধচন্দ্র-বাগচী) (18 November 1898 – 19 January 1956) or P. C. Bagchi was one of the most notable Sino -Indologists of the 20th century. He was the third Upacharya (Vice-Chancellor) of Visva-Bharati University. Early life and education He was born on 18 November 1898, the eldest son of Shri Harinath Bagchi and Smt Tarangini Devi in present-day Bangladesh in Magura District. He was to lose his mother in his early childhood. He did his schooling in Srikole, Magura District in present Bangladesh. Bagchi was a brilliant student and a favorite of his teachers and Head Master who expected great things of him. In 1914, he appeared for the Matriculation examination. Prabodh Chandra Goswami
Prabodh Chandra Goswami (1911–1984) was an Indian school teacher who worked in Jenkins School, Cooch Behar from 1951 to 1971. He was one of the most competent Mathematics teachers in the school during that period and also taught other subjects such as English, Bengali and Sanskrit. He graduated with Mathematics in 1933 from Ananda Mohan College, then a part of the University of Calcutta. His batchmate and good friend during his college days included famous magician P. C. Sorcar. In 1958, he was awarded the National Award for Teachers, an award for teaching excellence introduced in India in the same year. Prabodh Chandra Sengupta (21 June 1876–1962) was a historian of ancient Indian astronomy. He was a Professor of Mathematics at Bethune College in Calcutta and a lecturer in Indian Astronomy and Mathematics at the University of Calcutta. Early life Prabodh Chandra Sengupta, the younger son of Ram Chandra Sengupta, was born in a village near Tangail in Mymensingh district (now in Bangladesh) on 21 June 1876. Manna Dey
Prabodh Chandra Dey (May 1, 1919 − October 24, 2013), known by his stage name Manna Dey, was an internationally acclaimed and celebrated Indian playback singer, music director, and a musician. As a classical vocalist, he belonged to the Bhendibazaar Gharana and was trained under Ustad Aman Ali Khan. He is considered one of the most versatile and celebrated vocalists of the Hindi film industry, often credited with the success of Indian classical music in Hindi commercial movies. As a musician, Dey is best known for infusing Indian classical music in a pop framework that ushered the golden period in Hindi cinema. Prabodh Chandra (politician)
Prabodh Chandra was a freedom fighter and an Indian politician. Early life Born at Rawalpindi (now in Pakistan) on 24 October 1911, to Satya Dev, Headmaster of a Government High School and Durga Devi, he did his matriculation from the Government High School, Gujrat, Pakistan in 1927 and his Intermediate as a private candidate in 1930 before completing his graduation and Post Graduation from the F.C. College, Lahore (now in Pakistan). An admirer of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Subhash Chandra Bose and Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, he was also influenced by the lives of Shivaji and Garibaldi. Political career Chandra started his political career at the age of 16 and formed the Multan Student Union in 1927. He was closely associated with the Lahore Revolutionary Party and was arrested in connection with the Multan Bomb case in 1929. He was first jailed in 1930 and 1936, and again from 1942 to 1945.
