PowerFX
PowerFX Systems AB is a small recording company, based in Stockholm, Sweden. The company has been producing music samples, loops and sound effects since 1995. They also developed singing synthesizers using the VOCALOID engine developed by Yamaha Corporation. Products and services Vocaloid PowerFX was first introduced to the Vocaloid software after the introduction of the first Vocaloids (Lola and Leon) from the British studio Zero-G at the NAMM Show on January 15, 2004, and were later recommended to Yamaha Corporation by Crypton Future Media. Their first product for the software was " Sweet Ann" a Vocaloid 2 powered voicebank and was first introduced at the Musikmesse fair and later released on June 29, 2007. Big Al (software)
Big Al (officially stylized as BIG AL) is an English language Vocaloid developed by PowerFX for Vocaloid 2. He is marketed as the counterpart of Sweet ANN, the first VOCALOID developed by PowerFX. Development He was released as the male counterpart to Sweet Ann and was released on December 22, 2009. He was later released in Japan on March 3, 2010, and in Taiwan September 7, 2011. He was the first Vocaloid to have a confirmed American accent. Vocaloid 2 is a singing voice synthesizer and the successor to the Vocaloid voice synthesizer application by Yamaha. Unlike the first engine, Vocaloid 2 based its output on vocal samples, rather than voice analysis. The synthesis engine and the user interface were completely revamped, with Japanese Vocaloids possessing a Japanese interface, as opposed to the previous version, which used English for both versions. It is noteworthy for introducing the popular character Hatsune Miku. History Vocaloid 2 was announced in 2007. The software enables users to synthesize "singing" by typing in lyrics and melody and also "speech" by typing in the script of the required words. Yohioloid
Yohioloid is an English Vocaloid developed VocaTone and distributed by PowerFX who also has an additional Japanese voice bank. The vocalist sampled for his vocals was Swedish singer Yohio. He was released for Vocaloid 3. Development YOHIOloid was developed as a special vocal with an aim at rock music and Visual kei. VocaTone began production of another vocal following the release of Oliver. Yohio, by rare opportunity, offered himself and his vocal was put on priority due to its English/Japanese potential. His vocal was recorded in Sundsvall, Yohio's hometown at the Ninetone Studios. Following a series of rumours, it was later confirmed that Yohio was going to voice a bilingual Vocaloid with English and Japanese capabilities. Yohio himself confirmed this through a tweet. Vocaloid 4 is a singing voice synthesizer and successor to Vocaloid 3 in the Vocaloid series. History In October 2014, the first Vocaloid confirmed for the Vocaloid 4 engine was the English vocal Ruby. Its release was delayed so it could be released on the newer engine. A Vocaloid 4 version for OS X has also been released. All AH-Software vocals were also announced as receiving updated packages as well as VY1v4. The update of the AH-Software Vocaloid 2 vocals is related to Windows 10 being released in 2015, and the impact it may have on the Vocaloid 2 software. The Vocaloid 4 engine allows the importing of Vocaloid 2 and Vocaloid 3 vocals, though Vocaloid 2 vocals must have already been imported into Vocaloid 3 for this to work.
