Pouso Alegre Futebol Clube, commonly referred to as Pouso Alegre, is a Brazilian professional club based in Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais founded on 15 November 1913. It competes in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, the third tier of Brazilian football, as well as in the Campeonato Mineiro, the top flight of the Minas Gerais state football league. History Founded on 15 November 1913 as ''Pouso Alegre Football Club'', the club only played their first match in 1928. After a period of inactivity, the club became professional in 1967, playing in the Campeonato Mineiro Segunda Divisão but being knocked out after a judicial decision. In 1983, Pouso Alegre won the Campeonato Mineiro de Futebol Amador, after previously winning the Copa Sul Mineira earlier in the year. In the following season, the club returned to a professional status, and won promotion to the Campeonato Mineiro in 1988 after a court intervention. The 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the third division. It began on 2 May and ended on 22 October 2023. The 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the fourth division. The competition began on 17 April and ended on 25 September 2022. Sixty-four teams competed in the tournament. Sixty teams qualified from their state leagues and cups, and four relegated from the 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C ( Jacuipense, Oeste, Paraná and Santa Cruz). The four semi-finalists, Amazonas, América de Natal, Pouso Alegre and São Bernardo, were promoted to the 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs. Roger Rodrigues da Silva (born 7 January 1985), simply known as Roger, is a Brazilian football manager and former player who played as a striker. He is the current manager of Athletic-MG. The 2021 Campeonato Mineiro (officially Campeonato Mineiro SICOOB 2021 – Módulo I for sponsorship reasons) was the 107th edition of the state championship of Minas Gerais organized by the FMF. The competition began on 27 February and ended on 22 May 2021. Due to the worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil, FMF suspended the Campeonato Mineiro between 22 and 31 March 2021.
