Post Graduate Government College Co-ed, Sector 11, (PGGC-11) is a constituent college of the Panjab University located in Sector 11, Chandigarh. It is as old as Chandigarh. History The college was started on May 26, 1953 from a building in Sector 10, at present the building houses the famous Hotel Mountview. Later it was shifted to the premises of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23. Finally, on October 13, 1960, the college was moved to its own building in Sector 11. The college building was originally designed by E Maxwell Fry, an English modernist architect. Panjab University
Panjab University (PU) is a Collegiate university, collegiate public state university located in Chandigarh, Punjab. Funded through both Punjab, India, State and Government of India, Union governments, it is considered a state university (India), state university. It traces its origins to the University of the Punjab in Lahore, which was founded in 1882. After the partition of India, the university was established on October 1, 1947, and called East Punjab University. Initially housed primarily at a cantonment in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, Solan, it later relocated to a newly built campus in Chandigarh, and was renamed Panjab University. Chandigarh () is a planned city in India. Chandigarh is bordered by the state of Punjab to the west and the south, and by the state of Haryana to the east. It constitutes the bulk of the Chandigarh Capital Region or Greater Chandigarh, which also includes the adjacent Satellite city, satellite cities of Panchkula and Mohali. Sanjay Tandon
Sanjay Tandon (born 10 September 1963) is an Indian politician in the Bhartiya Janata Party. He is currently the State president of Bhartiya Janata Party from Chandigarh. His father was Balramji Das Tandon, who was a BJP leader of Punjab, who served as a Municipal Councilor in Punjab for 14 years and won 6 assembly elections in Punjab. Sanjay has written his father's biography titled "Balramji Dass Tandon: Ek Prerak Charitra" which was released by Shri L. K. Pawan Kumar Bansal
Pawan Kumar Bansal (born 16 July 1948) is an Indian National Congress politician, appointed interim treasurer in November 2020 and a former minister in the Manmohan Singh government. He represented Chandigarh constituency in the 15th Lok Sabha (2009-2014) of India. He served as Minister of Railways from 28 October 2012 to 10 May 2013.
