Portimonense
Portimonense Sporting Clube is a Portuguese sports club based in Portimão. Founded on 14 August 1914, it is most notable for its professional football team, which currently plays in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese football. It also fields various youth teams and a veterans team in football, as well as teams in basketball. Located in Algarve's second largest city, its stadium, the ''Estádio Municipal de Portimão'', has a capacity of 9,544 spectators after undergoing renovation in early 2011. The club has never won any major trophies, but it participated in the Primeira Liga for several seasons. Portimonense's zenith was in the 1980s, a decade in which the club only played its football in the top division, also competing in the UEFA Cup in 1985–86. The 2016–17 LigaPro (also known as Ledman LigaPro for sponsorship reasons) was the 27th season of Portuguese football's second-tier league, and the third season under the current LigaPro title. The 2019–20 Primeira Liga (also known as Liga NOS for sponsorship reasons) was the 86th season of the Primeira Liga, the top professional league for Portuguese association football clubs. The season started on 9 August 2019 and was finished on 26 July 2020. Benfica were the defending champions, after winning their 37th league title in the previous season. The 2010–11 Primeira Liga (also known as Liga ZON Sagres for sponsorship reasons) was the 77th season of the Primeira Liga, the top professional league for Portuguese association football clubs. It began on 15 August 2010 and ended on 14 May 2011. A total of 16 teams contested the league, 14 of which already took part in the previous season and two of which were promoted from the Liga de Honra. Benfica were the defending champions but finished runners-up to Porto, who won their 25th league title in the club's first-ever unbeaten season. Porto's forward Hulk was the top scorer with 23 goals. The 2009–10 Liga de Honra season (also known as Liga Vitalis due to sponsorship reasons) is the 20th season of the second-tier football in Portugal. It began on 13 August 2009 and will end on 9 May 2010. Olhanense are the defending champions. Teams Trofense were relegated to the Liga de Honra after finishing 16th and last in the Portuguese Liga 2008–09 season. Trofense were to be accompanied by Belenenses, who finished in 15th place. Belenenses were ending a ten-year stretch in the Portuguese top-level league, while Trofense returned to the Liga da Honra after just one year in the top flight. Luís Filipe Vieira Carvalha (born 6 January 1967), known as Litos, is a Portuguese former Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder, currently a Manager (association football), manager. Estádio Municipal De Portimão
Estádio Municipal de Portimão is the current stadium of Portimonense S.C. It is located in the centre of Portimão in the Algarve, Portugal and was opened in 1937 for local football club Portimonense S.C. Its capacity is 9,544 people. It hosted Portimonense's stay in the Primeira Liga in the 1980s. In 2006, Portimonense were forced to play away from the Estádio Municipal in the Estádio Algarve, which – built for Euro 2004 – is 70 kilometres from Portimão. In February 2007, however, Portimonense returned home and the Portimão Municipality purchased the site five months later. Wilson Bruno Naval da Costa Eduardo (born 8 July 1990) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Turkish club Alanyaspor. The Primeira Liga (; English: Premier League, also written as Liga Portugal 1), also known as Liga Portugal Bwin for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of the Portuguese football league system. Organised and supervised by the Liga Portugal, it is contested by 18 teams since the 2014–15 season, with the three lowest placed teams relegated to the Liga Portugal 2 and replaced by the top-three non-reserve teams from this division.
