Anthony Portier
Anthony Portier (; born 1 June 1982 in Ostend) is a Belgian professional football player who plays for Beerschot Wilrijk. His best position is central in defence. Portier started playing football at Gold Star Middelkerk, where he was discovered by a neighbouring Belgian coast team, KV Oostende where he eventually made it to the first team. Portier then moved on to Cercle Brugge. He was transferred to the Bruges side a half season after his previous team KV Oostende had relegated from the First division. Bishop Michael Portier (September 7, 1795, Montbrison, Loire, Montbrison, France – May 14, 1859, Mobile, Alabama) was a Roman Catholic bishop in the United States and the first Archdiocese of Mobile, Bishop of Mobile. He immigrated to the US in 1817, being ordained there. He later founded many parishes and Catholic institutions in Alabama and Florida, particularly in Mobile. Among them was Providence Hospital (Mobile), Providence Hospital. He also recruited religious orders of men and women to teach and care for parishioners. Biography Michel Portier was born in Montbrison in the diocese of Lyon, France. He was a student at the seminary in Lyon when recruited by Bishop Dubourg Louis William Valentine Dubourg, for the American mission. Le Portier, sometimes referred to as Portier Cove or Mareterra, is a residential area under construction, expected for 2025, that will be part of the traditional ''Quartier'' of Monte Carlo in the Principality of Monaco. It will be the eleventh modern administrative Monégasque ward. History The project, started in early 2000s and scheduled for 2014, was abandoned in 2009 by the decision of the Prince Albert II due to the state of the national finances, but subsequently new funds were found and the project was restarted in 2011. In addition to the new residential area, it is also planned to build administrative buildings, museums and a theatre.
