Porter Robinson
Porter Weston Robinson (born July 15, 1992) is an American DJ, record producer, musician, and singer from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Robinson began producing music in his childhood. He signed to Skrillex's record label Owsla, OWSLA at the age of 18, and released the extended play Spitfire (EP), ''Spitfire'' in 2011. He appeared on ''Billboard'''s 21 Under 21 list in 2012. Robinson's debut full-length studio album, Worlds (Porter Robinson album), ''Worlds'', was released in 2014 and peaked at number one on ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard''’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums. He won the 2015 MTVU Artist of the Year, and made ''DJ Magazine, DJ Mag''s Top 100 DJs list for seven consecutive years. ''Worlds'' is the debut studio album by the American electronic music producer Porter Robinson, released on August 12, 2014 by Astralwerks in the United States and by Virgin EMI Records internationally. The album exhibits a shift in Robinson's music style from the heavy, bass-fueled complextro of his previous work to a more alternative form of electronic music. Owsla (stylized in all caps) is an American record label and creative collective. It was founded by Skrillex, Tim Smith, Kathryn Frazier, and Clayton Blaha in 2011. Skrillex announced the label on August 17, 2011. The label's first release was Porter Robinson's ''Spitfire''. The name "Owsla" is a reference to Richard Adams' fantasy novel ''Watership Down'', in which it refers to the governing caste in a society of anthropomorphized rabbits. Shelter Live Tour
The Shelter Live Tour was a collaborative concert tour by French DJ and record producer Madeon and American DJ and record producer Porter Robinson in support of their single "Shelter". The tour visited North America, Europe, Asia and Australia from 29 September 2016 to 23 April 2017. Background On 11 August 2016, along with the release of "Shelter", Madeon and Porter Robinson announced that they would be doing a back-to-back live show, featuring them performing live together. Background Prior to beginning their professional music careers, Porter Robinson and Madeon met for the first time in a music production Internet forum when they were 14 and 12 years old, respectively. The EP is available in CD format and digital download.
