Sampson Hosking
Sampson Hosking (4 January 1888 – 20 October 1974) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League, South Australian Football League (SAFL). He was twice a recipient of the Magarey Medal, an individual award given in recognition of being the best and fairest player in the SAFL. After his playing career Hosking was also an accomplished football coach successfully leading Port Adelaide and the West Torrens Football Club to a combined six premierships. In 1929 he was described in the South Australian Register, ''Register'' as "one of the most prominent figures in the game during the past 20 years. North Adelaide Football Club, nicknamed The Roosters, is an Australian rules football club affiliated with the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and SANFL Women's League (SANFLW). West Torrens Football Club was an Australian rules football club that competed in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) from 1897 to 1990. In 1991, the club merged with neighbouring Woodville Football Club to form the Woodville-West Torrens Eagles. With the proposed introduction of representative Districts for clubs in the SAFA the Native Club in 1896 derived its name from Electoral district of West Torrens and based itself in the western suburbs of Adelaide, around the western reaches of the River Torrens. Frank Barry was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Adelaide in the South Australian Football League (SAFL) from 1911 to 1915. A rover, Barry was a joint winner of the Magarey Medal The Magarey Medal is an Australian rules football honour awarded annually since 1898 to the fairest and most brilliant player in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL), as judged by field umpires. The award was created by Will ... in his final league season. The war caused the competition to be suspended from 1916 to 1918 and he didn't return in 1919. Bill Mayman
Bill Mayman (1 May 1887 – 20 April 1970) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Sturt in the South Australian Football League (SAFL). A centreman or half-back flanker, Mayman began his career at Mines Rovers in the Goldfields Football Association. In 1913, he joined Sturt in the South Australian Football League, and became captain in 1914. He led the club to its first and second premierships in 1915 and 1919. In 1922, he moved to Tasmania and joined the New Town Football Club, playing there for three years. Mayman represented three different states at carnival football, representing Western Australia in 1911, captaining South Australia in 1914, and represented Tasmania in 1924.
