Porky Pig And Friends
''The Porky Pig Show'' is an American television anthology series hosted by Porky Pig, that was composed of '' Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' theatrical cartoons made between 1948 and 1964. The series aired on ABC Saturday mornings from 1964 to 1967, with 26 half-hour episodes created. In rare times as of the 2010s, the show aired reruns on Canal 5 in Mexico. Format Each show began with a newly-animated title sequence featuring a theme song by Barbara Cameron, in which Porky welcomes his friends into a barn to dance and watch his show. Following the three cartoons featured on the program (the first one always featuring Porky, and few of which would be featured on any incarnation of ''The Bugs Bunny Show'' until the 1990s), a closing sequence played in which Porky's friends say goodbye and promise to return the following week. Baton Bunny
''Baton Bunny'' is a 1959 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon, directed by Chuck Jones and Abe Levitow. The short was released on January 10, 1959, and stars Bugs Bunny. It shows Bugs conducting an orchestra - with a fly bothering him. Bugs conducts, and in part, plays the overture to "Ein Morgen, ein Mittag und Abend in Wien" (A Morning, Noon, and Night in Vienna)", a composition by Franz von Suppé. Though Mel Blanc was credited for vocal characterizations, there is no dialogue in the short; the only vocal effect made was when an audience member is heard coughing. This is the third and last Bugs Bunny cartoon (the first two being ''A Corny Concerto'' and ''Rhapsody Rabbit'', although he says three lines in the latter) where Bugs is silent. ''Chow Hound'' is a 1951 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' animated short directed by Chuck Jones and written by Michael Maltese. The short was released on June 16, 1951. The voices are performed by Mel Blanc, Bea Benaderet and John T. Smith. Unlike many Warner Bros. cartoons featuring cats, such as Sylvester, as the antagonists of their targets (such as birds) and dogs serving to discourage their behavior, ''Chow Hound'' uses a different formula, wherein a large bulldog is the merciless bully, and a frightened cat, along with a mouse, are both his hapless victims. In the film, the bully is a con-artist who forces the cat to serve as his accomplice in a series of scams. The bully's main motivation is gluttony. Once his overeating habits render him obese, sick, and unable to defend himself, the cat turns the table and tortures him in revenge. ''Drip-Along Daffy'' is a 1951 Warner Bros. '' Merrie Melodies'' theatrical cartoon short, directed by Chuck Jones and written by Michael Maltese. The cartoon was released on November 17, 1951, and stars Daffy Duck and Porky Pig. This cartoon was produced as a parody of Westerns which were popular at the time of its release, and features Daffy Duck as a "Western-Type Hero", who, with his trusty "Comedy Relief" ( Porky Pig) hopes to clean up a violence-filled " one-horse town". In a tongue-in-cheek nod to ''The Lone Ranger'', Daffy's horse is named "Tinfoil". Plot The narrator introduces the Gambling Bug, demanding he stand up so everyone can get a look at him. Three examples are then offered, showing what happens should this Gambling Bug "bite" someone, giving them "gambling fever". First, a restaurant customer is seen coaxing a frustrated waiter (named Luigi) to allow another in what has clearly been a series of coin flips to determine payment for a meal. Plot Two elderly ladies (one of which is Granny), the owners of Sylvester and Tweety, sneak their pets into a hotel where no pets are allowed. Sylvester, hearing Tweety's singing in the room next to his, writes a letter to the canary from his "Ardent Admirer".
