Porkpie (TV Series)
''Porkpie'' is a British television sitcom that aired on Channel 4 from 13 November 1995 to 26 September 1996, starring Ram John Holder as Augustus "Porkpie" Grant. It was a spin-off from ''Desmond's''. ''Porkpie'' kept several key characters from ''Desmond's'', and in the first episode, Grant ("Porkpie") was seen standing outside the barbershop Desmond used to run, saying: "Desmond, since you died, it hasn't stopped raining. I know how much you used to say it can rain in England, and it's true. Must be one of two things: either a thousand angels weeping for you, or you having a good drink up in heaven and you spilling it all over the place." Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. Critics disagree over the utility of the term "sitcom" in classifying shows that have come into existence since the turn of the century. Geffrey "Geff" Francis (born 1964), best known as Geff Francis, is a British actor who portrayed Lynford, a hoodlum, in the 1988 drama film ''For Queen and Country''. Carolyn Jane Onslow How (born 21 December 1950) is an English actress with a range of television, film, and stage credits. Mona Hammond (born Mavis Chin; 1 January 1931 – 4 July 2022) was a Jamaican-British actress and co-founder of the Talawa Theatre Company. Born in Tweedside, Jamaica, Tweedside Map, Google. Austin J. "Ozzie" Yue (born 12 August 1947) is a British actor and musician of Chinese heritage. His television roles include appearances in ''Father Ted'', ''All Quiet on the Preston Front'' and '' Coronation Street'' and roles in films include '' Lara Croft: Tomb Raider'', ''Syriana'' and ''Nuns on the Run''. Clarence Linberg Miller (30 March 1934 – 16 August 2018), better known as Count Prince Miller, was a Jamaican-born British actor and musician. Biography Miller began as a musician, recording a number of reggae songs. His best known song is "Mule Train Parts One & Two", which was a hit on Trojan Records in 1971, before being re-recorded with Sly and Robbie in the early 1980s. Adding elements of music hall performance to his reggae style, Miller drew comparison with Judge Dread for his somewhat bawdy music. He also regularly appeared with Jimmy James. Rice and peas (or peas and rice) is a traditional food within the West Indian Caribbean islands. Derek Griffiths (born 15 July 1946) is a British actor, singer, and voice artist who appeared in numerous British children's television series in the 1960s to present and has more recently played parts in television drama.
