Poramadulla Central College ( si, පොරමඩුල්ල මධ්ය මහා විද්යලය) is a public national school in Rikillagaskada, Hanguranketha, Sri Lanka. Flanked by the Diyatalawa mount on one side and the Kandapola area on the other, the school serves as a sports school that helps train children talented in sports to improve and harness their skills. () The school provides secondary education. History Poramadulla Central College opened in Karandagolla in 1901. The school became a Bilingual school. At one point it moved to the campus of Poramadulla primary school. On 16 September 1945 the school was designated as a Central College due to a request from the villagers and principal M.D Gunawardhana. Hanguranketha
Hanguranketha ( si, හඟුරන්කෙත, translit=Han̆guranketa; ta, அங்குரன்கெதை, translit=Aṅkuraṉketai) is a town in the Nuwara Eliya District, Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is approximately southeast of Kandy and northeast of Colombo and located on the B413 Road. History The name of the town is purportedly derived from ''Sangaruwan Ketha'', a thriving paddy field. The location was also known as ''Diyatillakepura'', a camping site of a number of Kings of Kandy during the various Chola invasions. Diyatalawa (දියතලාව, meaning “the watered plain”) is a former garrison town in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, in the Badulla District of Uva Province. It is situated at an altitude of and has become a popular destination for local holiday makers. The ''Daily News'' is an English-language newspaper in Sri Lanka. It is now published by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House), a government-owned corporation. The newspaper commenced publishing on 3 January 1918. D. R. Wijewardena was its founder. The present-day newspaper is written as a broadsheet, with photographs printed both in color and black and white.
