"Por Un Segundo" ( en, italic=yes, For a Second) is Aventura's first single from their fifth and final studio album ''The Last'' (2009). The song reached number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Tracks chart which was the first time for Aventura. The song was awarded "Tropical Song of the Year" at the Premios Lo Nuestro 2010 awards. Music video The music video for "Por un Segundo" starts with Aventura on their tour bus. Max, Henry, and Lenny are talking about a woman Anthony lost and that she is getting married. Anthony walks in, sees the magazine, and starts to remember when they were in love, and what will happen to him if he's not. By the end of the video, he gets over it. Aventura (band)
Aventura is an American bachata group formed in The Bronx, New York. With the lineup always consisting of the members Romeo Santos, Henry Santos, Lenny Santos (Len Melody), and Max Santos (Max Agende), they are regarded as one of the most influential Latin groups of all time. All of the members are of Dominican descent, although Romeo is also half Puerto Rican on his mother's side. They were the first major bachata act to have originated in the United States instead of the Dominican Republic. The group was integral to the evolution of bachata music and are the pioneers of the modern bachata sound. Aventura released five studio albums in a decade, creating many top 10 hits like "Cuando Volverás", "Un Beso", "Mi Corazoncito", "Los Infieles", "El Perdedor", "Por Un Segundo", "Dile Al Amor", among others. ''The Last'' is the fifth and final studio album by the Bachata group Aventura, released on June 9, 2009. In the "Intro" of this album, Anthony "Romeo" Santos states that this could possibly be their last album; his prediction came true in July 2011 when the group publicly confirmed it was breaking up for good. ''The Last'' became the top selling Latin album of 2009 and 2010. The Last spent 23 weeks at number one in the Latin Billboard chart. The Last debuted at number 5 in the Billboard chart and number 1 in the Latin Billboard chart. Album information One of the members of the group, the guitarist Lenny told MTV that the album was recorded in Wyclef's studio, and stated that Wyclef wanted to record a song with them. Bachata (music)
Bachata is a genre of music that originated in the Dominican Republic in the 20th century. It is a fusion of southwestern European influences, mainly Spanish guitar music, with indigenous Taino and Sub Saharan African musical elements, representative of the cultural diversity of the Dominican population. The first recorded compositions of bachata was done by José Manuel Calderón in 1962 ("Borracho de amor") from the Dominican Republic. Bachata originates from bolero and son (and later, from the mid-1980s, merengue). The original term used to name the genre was ''amargue'' ("bitterness", "bitter music" or "blues music"), until the mood-neutral term ''bachata'' became popular. Lenny Santos a.k.a. Len Melody (born October 24, 1979) is an American guitarist, composer, producer and entrepreneur. He rose to global fame as the co-founder of the bachata group Aventura where he served as producer, lead guitarist, vocalist, composer and musical director. Lenny is responsible for the groups distinctive sound. He is the one who dared to experiment with bachata, adding fusions of R&B, hip hop and pop. "El Perdedor" ( en, italic=yes, The Loser) is Aventura's third single from album '' K.O.B. Live'' (2006). The song reached big recognition in many Spanish-speaking countries. ''All Up 2 You'' is the second single by Aventura from their album ''The Last''. The song features Akon and Wisin & Yandel. On April 23, they performed the song at the 2009 Latin Billboard Music Awards. Aventura member Romeo uses the auto-tune effect in his vocals. A merengue remix was made for the song. The song was also included on Wisin & Yandel's re-release album '' La Revolución: Evolution'', and for the Mexican and Brazilian edition there is a remix featuring dancehall artist Adrian Banton. In Premios Lo Nuestro 2010, the song was nominated for Urban Song of the Year, losing to Tito el Bambino's " El Amor" and Collaboration of the Year losing to Luis Fonsi's "Aquí Estoy Yo". The eighth cycle of ''America's Next Top Model'' aired from February 28, 2007 to May 16, 2007, and was the second season of the series to be aired on The CW network.
