Popular Unity (Greece)
Popular Unity ( el, Λαϊκή Ενότητα (ΛΑΕ), ''Laïkí Enótita'', LAE) is a left-wing politics, left-wing list of political parties in Greece, political party in Greece. Popular Unity was founded on 21 August 2015 by twenty five parliamentarians formerly affiliated to the Syriza, Coalition of the Radical Left (Syriza), as a reaction to Prime Minister of Greece, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' handling of the Greek government-debt crisis, Greek bailout agreement of 2015. It is led by the former Ministry of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy, Minister of Energy Panagiotis Lafazanis. Due to receiving 2.86% (vs. the required 3%) of the popular vote in the September 2015 election it has no seats in the Parliament. Popular Unity (Chile)
Popular Unity ( es, Unidad Popular, UP) was a left-wing political alliance in Chile that stood behind the successful candidacy of Salvador Allende for the 1970 Chilean presidential election. History Successor to the FRAP coalition, Popular Unity originally comprised most of the Chilean Left: the Socialist Party, the Communist Party, the Radical Party, the Social Democrat Party, the Independent Popular Action and MAPU (''Movimiento de Acción Popular Unitario''). They were later joined in 1971 by the Christian Left and in 1972 by the MAPU Obrero Campesino (a splinter group). UP also initially included the moderate Party of the Radical Left, but in 1972 it joined the opposition (inside the Confederation of Democracy). Popular Unity ( it, Unità Popolare, UP) was a short-lived social-democratic and social-liberal and political party in Italy. Its leaders were Piero Calamandrei, a Democratic Socialist, and Ferruccio Parri, a Republican and former Prime Minister. Popular Unity Candidacy
The Popular Unity Candidacy ( ca, Candidatura d'Unitat Popular, , CUP) is a left-wing to far-left pro-Catalan independence political party active primarily in Catalonia, where it has political representation, but also in other autonomous communities in Spain it considers to be part of the Catalan Countries. The CUP traditionally has focused on municipal politics, and is made up of a series of autonomous candidatures that run in local elections. Its presence is strongest within the contemporary Catalonia autonomous community. In 2012, the CUP decided for the first time to run for Catalan parliamentary elections, gaining 3 MPs out of 135. Popular Unity ( es, Unidad Popular) was a political and electoral alliance in Spain. The alliance was organized in 2015 to contest the 2015 general election and integrates the United Left. Popular Unity (Montenegro)
Popular Unity ( Montenegrin and sr, Narodna Sloga/Народна Слога) was a big tent opposition political alliance in Montenegro. The alliance was formed by two major opposition parties in Montenegro at time, the People's Party (NS) and Liberal Alliance of Montenegro (LSCG), prior to the 1996 parliamentary election. Slavko Perović's idea for the alliance was that it would open the way for "reconciliation between Montenegrins and Montenegrin Serbs". Kilibarda's party was Serbian nationalist. The main goal of the alliance was to overthrow the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) of president Momir Bulatović, which has been in power since introduction of multi-party system. Montenegrin ( ; cnr, label=none, / ) is a normative variety of the Serbo-Croatian language mainly used by Montenegrins and is the official language of Montenegro. Montenegrin is based on the most widespread dialect of Serbo-Croatian, Shtokavian, more specifically on Eastern Herzegovinian, which is also the basis of Standard Croatian, Serbian, and Bosnian. Popular Unity ( es, Unidad Popular) is a Uruguayan electoral alliance of Left-wing and Socialist political parties. Previously known as Popular Assembly, they were born out of dissatisfaction with the Broad Front since it became the party in charge of the government, accusing it of being "not leftist enough". In 2013 they changed to the current name.
