Popular Reformist Coalition
In 2008 Iranian legislative election, they formed "''Popular Coalition of Reforms''", consisting of 14 groups. Mostafa Kavakebian and Fatemeh Karroubi were key figures of the alliance. Other than Democracy Party, Islamic Assembly of Women and some of Islamic Iran Solidarity Party politicians –not the party itself– were notable parties of the coalition. The coalition was allied with National Trust Party and Moderation and Development Party in the election and competed with Council for Coordinating the Reforms Front's "Reformists Coalition: Friends of Khatami" list, as well as conservative United Front of Principlists and Principlists Pervasive Coalition. 2012 parliamentary election Led by Mostafa Kavakebian, in the 2012 Iranian legislative election they were renamed to "''Reformists Front''", a name similar to the "'' Reforms Front''" —which decided not to participate in the election. Mostafa Kavakebian
Mostafa Kavakebian ( fa, مصطفی کواکبیان; born 18 March 1963) is an Iranian reformist politician and representative of Tehran at the Parliament of Iran. He has formerly represented Semnan and Mehdishahr in the parliament from 2008 until 2012. Early life Kavakebian was born in Semnan on 18 March 1963. Career Kavakebian is a leader of Democracy Party a reformist party that he founded in 2000. He was the leader of the ' Popular Reformist Coalition' that was running on 2004 and 2008 legislative election. He was a member of the reformist faction in the Parliament. He founded Popular Coalition of Supporters of Mir-Hossein Mousavi in the 2009 Iranian presidential election. Before he founded his party, he was the deputy leader of the 'Unity Party'. Pervasive Coalition of Reformists: The Second Step ( fa, ائتلاف فراگير اصلاح‌طلبان: گام دوم), named The List of Hope ( fa, لیست امید) by Mohammad Khatami, was the sole coalition and electoral list affiliated with the Iranian reform movement for the 2016 legislative election. The group also endorsed candidates for the 2016 Assembly of Experts election. Reformists backed a list of 236 candidates for the Parliament and 77 for the Assembly of Experts, even though many of them are not reformists but moderate-leaning figures. 2016 Iranian Legislative Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Iran on 26 February 2016 to elect members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly for all seats in the 10th parliament in the Islamic Republic era and the 34th since the Persian Constitutional Revolution. A second round was held on 29 April 2016 for some constituencies where candidates failed to obtain the required minimum 25 percent of votes cast. The elected MPs served from 28 May 2016 to 27 May 2020. The election was held as part of a general election which also elected members of the Assembly of Experts. This election was the first time that both bodies were elected simultaneously. There were 54,915,024 registered voters (in Iran, the voting age is 18). Council For Coordinating The Reforms Front
The Council for Coordinating the Reforms Front or the Reformist Front Coordination Council ( fa, شورای هماهنگی جبهه اصلاحات) is the umbrella organization, coalition and council of main political groups within the Iranian reform movement. Since 2015, it is overseen by the Reformists' Supreme Council for Policy-making. Formation On 13 November 1999, eighteen groups came together to form the "Council for coordinating of 2nd of Khordad Front" ( fa, شورای هماهنگی جبهه دوم خرداد) with the aim of laying down a unified reformist strategy.
