Popular Action Movement
The Popular Action Movement ( ar, حركة العمل الشعبي, PAM) is a Kuwaiti opposition political group. Formed in the aftermath of the 2011–12 protests, the PAM first came together in March 2013 by opposition youth groups and former MPs. Their aims included the creation of an elected government, a return to the previous voting system, and the legalisation of political parties. Musallam Al-Barrak
Musallam Al-Barrak ( ar, مسلم محمد البراك) is a Kuwaiti politician. He was a member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, representing the fourth district. Background Born on January 30, 1956, Al-Barrak studied geography and worked in the Municipal Council before being elected to the National Assembly in 1996. Al-Barrak affiliates with the Popular Action Bloc. Al-Barrak had been elected for six consecutive terms, making him the longest-serving member of parliament. Populism
Populism refers to a range of political stances that emphasize the idea of "the people" and often juxtapose this group against " the elite". Ahmed Al-Sadoun
Ahmed Abdulaziz al-Sadoun ( ar, أحمد عبدالعزيز السعدون) (born 1934) is the Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly from October 2022. He was previously the speaker from 1985 to 1999 and from February 2012 until it was declared that the February 2012 elections were invalid. He is the leader of the Popular Action Bloc in the Assembly and served for eight terms. He represented the third district. Al-Sadoun worked in the ministry of communication before being elected to the National Assembly in 1975. Al-Sadoun is a real estate executive. The Emir of the State of Kuwait is the monarch and head of state of Kuwait, the country's most powerful office. The emirs of Kuwait are members of the Al Sabah dynasty. Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah ( ar, الشيخ صباح الأحمد الجابر الصباح, translit=ash-Shaykh Sabāh al-ʾAḥmad al-Jābir aṣ-Ṣabāḥ; 16 June 192929 September 2020) was the Emir of Kuwait and Commander of the Kuwait Military Forces from 29 January 2006 until his death in 2020.
