Popstar (TV Series)
''Popstar'' (stylized ''PopStar'') is a Brazilian daytime live reality television singing competition originally created, produced and aired by Rede Globo. The series premiered on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. / 12:00 p.m. (BRT / AMT). The show features fourteen celebrity acts singing live in front of the nation and facing a panel of judges, known as Specialists, and the public vote in order to win the grand prize of R$250.000. Fernanda Lima was the main host for the first season, while actor Tiago Abravanel served as backstage interviewer and social media correspondent from seasons one and two. The Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão (; SBT ; "Brazilian Television System") is a Brazilian television network founded on Wednesday, 19 August 1981, by the businessman and television personality Silvio Santos. The company was established after a public tender by the Brazilian Federal Government to form two new networks, created from revoked concessions of the defunct Tupi and Excelsior networks. The SBT was funded in the same day that the concession agreement was signed, and that the act was broadcast live by the network, so that this was his first program aired. Taís Bianca Gama de Araújo (; born 25 November 1978) is a Brazilian actress, TV host and model. Her first prominent role on television was in 1996 as protagonist of the Brazilian telenovela '' Xica da Silva'' by Walcyr Carrasco, in the Rede Manchete. Jakson Ragnar Follmann (; born 14 March 1992), sometimes known as just Follmann, is a Brazilian sports commentator, singer and former professional footballer who last played as a goalkeeper for Brazilian club Chapecoense. Follmann is one of just six survivors in the crash of LaMia Airlines Flight 2933 which killed 71 people including 19 Chapecoense players.
