Pooja Nansi
Pooja Nansi (born November 27, 1981) is a Singaporean poet, musician and educator. Biography Pooja Nansi was born in Gujarat, India in 1981. Her family moved to Singapore when she was one and a half years old. She is the oldest of two daughters. She grew up in Katong and attended Telok Kurau Primary School and CHIJ Katong Convent from 1988 - 1997. She wanted to be a teacher from a young age and would teach her dolls as a child. She attended the National University of Singapore and started teaching upon graduation. She taught at Temasek Junior College for nine years and held the position of head of Language Arts and English Literature for part of her time there. She was a writer-in residence at Nanyang Technological University (2015-2016) and currently teaches creative writing part-time. Telok Kurau Primary School
This is a list of primary schools in Singapore. Children typically start their primary education in the year they turn seven. Primary education lasts six years, and is compulsory for all Singapore citizens. Primary schools in Singapore are classified as Government or Government-aided schools. Primary schools are typically mixed-sex, though there are a number of single-sex schools. Ng Yi Sheng
Ng Yi Sheng (; born 1980) is a Singaporean gay writer. He has published a collection of his poems entitled ''last boy'', which won the Singapore Literature Prize, and a documentary book on gay, lesbian and bisexual Singaporeans called ''SQ21: Singapore Queers in the 21st Century'' in 2006. Early life and education Ng lived in Hong Kong with his parents for three years during his childhood. On his return to Singapore, he attended the Anglo-Chinese School. He graduated from Columbia University, USA, where he majored in Comparative Literature and Writing. BooksActually is an independent bookstore operating online. It was formerly located in Singapore's Tiong Bahru district till 2020. History and description BooksActually was established by Kenny Leck and Karen Wai in 2005 on the second floor of a shophouse along Telok Ayer Street with capital pooled from savings and family. The bookstore subsequently moved to Ann Siang Hill in 2007, and opened a second outlet at Club Street in 2008. Due to an increase in rent, they closed up Ann Siang Hill and moved from Club Street to Yong Siak Street in Tiong Bahru in 2011. BooksActually regularly hosts literary events including book launches and poetry readings, acoustic sessions, and mini exhibitions.
