Pontus Widegren
Pontus Widegren (born 14 October 1990) is a Swedish professional golfer. Widegren became the youngest Club Champion at Stockholm Golf Club after winning the title aged just 13. He turned professional in 2013 after playing college golf for four years while studying at the University of California, Los Angeles, winning twice. Widegren played on the Challenge Tour 2014–2016 and secured his European Tour card at the 2016 European Tour Qualifying School. He finished runner-up at the 2013 Norwegian Challenge and had a one shot advantage heading into the final day of the 2015 Madeira Islands Open, a dual-ranked Challenge Tour and European Tour event, but eventually tied for fourth. On the 2017 European Tour, Widegren finished tied for third at the D+D Real Czech Masters. Danderyd
Danderyd Municipality (''Danderyds kommun''; ) is a municipality north of Stockholm in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. It is one of the smallest municipalities of Sweden, but the most affluent. Its seat is located in Djursholm and it is located within Stockholm urban area. The "old" rural municipality Danderyd was split up during the early 20th century, when Djursholm and Stocksund broke away in 1901 and 1910 respectively. Since 1971 Danderyd Municipality is reunified in approximately the old boundaries. The population in 2019 was 32,857. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. There was an 18-hole playoff which Australia won with a score of 222 to the United States 224. From 1958 to 2000 the teams had four players with the best three scores counting for each round. From 2002 the teams have been three players with two counting. The 2004, 2010 and 2012 championships were reduced to 54 holes because of bad weather. The St Andrews Trophy is a biennial men's team golf tournament contested between teams of amateur golfers representing Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe. It takes its name from St Andrews in Scotland. It was first played in 1956 and takes place in even-numbered years; Great Britain & Ireland plays in the United States in the Walker Cup in odd-numbered years. It is staged alternately in Great Britain & Ireland and on the Continent, and is organised by The R&A (an offshoot of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews) and the European Golf Association. The 2013 Palmer Cup was held on June 7–9, 2013 on the South Course at Wilmington Country Club, Wilmington, Delaware. The United States won 20½ to 9½. The teams were increased from 8 to 10. Format The order of the sessions was changed. On Friday, there were five matches of four-ball, while there were ten singles matches on Saturday. Five foursomes matches were played on Sunday morning followed by ten singles matches in the afternoon. In all, 30 matches were played.
