Pontevedra is a city located in Merlo Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The town was named after the homonymous city of Pontevedra, Spain. Pontevedra was founded in 1871 by real estate promoters, in the estates belonging to the Irish landlord Thomas Gahan, member of Merlo's first municipal government in 1865. Pontevedra is a small town surrounded by small truck farms, connected to Merlo, Libertad and González Catán . Merlo is the head town of the eponymous partido of Merlo and seat of the municipal government, located in the Greater Buenos Aires urban area of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The city was founded by Francisco de Merlo in 1755 and rebuilt by Juan Dillon in 1859. Merlo is divided in two distinctive regions: ''Merlo Centro'', a middle class district clustered around the train station; and the working class barrios, most of them along the Reconquista River. González Catán
González Catán is a city located in La Matanza Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The city is the second-largest by area in the county (52 km²), and the second most-populous. The city is located near the southwestern end of the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area, from Buenos Aires along Route 3. Overview The settlement is the oldest one in La Matanza County, and was founded in 1570 as a garrison by a Conquistador, Captain Juan de Garay.
