He served as head coach at Miami University, Yale University, Northwestern University and Indiana University. Early life Pont was born on November 13, 1927 in Canton, Ohio to Bautista and Suzannah Pont. He graduated from Timken High School in Canton. As an undergraduate at Miami University, Pont was an outstanding halfback, playing for coaches Woody Hayes and Ara Parseghian, and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. After a serving a tour as a Navy submariner, Pont played professional football in Canada. He and several of his "Cradle of Coaches" compatriots are the subject of the book ''Fields of Honor'', written by Pont's niece, Sally Pont. 	Mike Pont Mike Pont is an American singer, songwriter, and celebrity photographer. As a singer he has sung for several bands, including Hotshot, Trouble, The Mike Pont Band, Danger Danger, and the Gangsters Of Love. Music In 1983 Mike Pont co-founded a new wave cover band that would perform throughout the New York Tri-state area. The pre-Danger Danger incarnation of the band Hotshot also featured then future Danger Danger members Bruno Ravel and Steve West. The post-Danger Danger incarnation of Hotshot also featured former Danger Danger guitarist Al Pitrelli. In 1985 Mike sang backing vocals on the Jack Starr's Burning Starr album Rock the American Way. 	Robert Pont Robert Pont (the abbreviated form of Kylpont or Kynpont) (1529–1606) was a Church of Scotland minister, judge and reformer. He was a church minister and commissioner and a Senator of the College of Justice. His translation of the Helvetian Confession was ordered to be printed by the General Assembly. Pont's legal skill allowed him to be made Provost of Trinity College, and through the influence of Morton, but with the consent of the Assembly, he accepted a seat in the Court of Session in 1572. Working for the church he assisted in the preparation of the Second Book of Discipline. He protested so prominently against the Black Acts that he was compelled for a time to take refuge in England. On returning with Angus and other Protestant Lords, he resumed his ministerial duty at St. Cuthbert's.
