Pont-de-Larn
Pont-de-Larn (; oc, Lo Pont de L'Arn) is a commune in the Tarn department in southern France. It is 2 kilometers from Mazamet in the Occitanie region. The town is situated on the river Arn (a tributary of the Thoré) in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park at the foot of the Montagne Noire. On the sunny side of the Thoré valley, Pont-de-Larn offers residents and guests the ambience of a "country town". There are guest houses and lodges in the vicinity, and marked hiking trails. There is also a tennis club, stadiums, bowling and one of the oldest golf courses in the region, de la Barouge. The village offers a wide selection of shops, restaurants and services. Mazamet
Mazamet (; Languedocien: ''Masamet'') is a commune in the Tarn department in southern France. It is the second-largest component of the Castres-Mazamet metropolitan area. Geography Mazamet is situated on the northern slope of the Montagne Noire and on the Arnette, a small tributary of the Thoré, which forms the commune's northern border. Population Economy The town made its wealth during the 18th and 19th centuries, when it was the world center of the wool industry. At its height, the town imported more than 100,000 tonnes of wool annually from the Southern Hemisphere. After processing, numerous establishments were involved in wool-spinning and in the manufacture of leather goods, gloves, blankets, hosiery and clothing for the troops. Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park (french: Parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc) is a regional natural park in the south of the Massif Central within the Aveyron, Hérault, and Tarn departments of France. The Sidobre is a mountainous area located in the south of the Massif central, in central France. It consists of a plateau made of granite, 15.3 km long, 6.6 km wide and covered with forests.
