Polish Hip Hop
The Polish hip hop scene was born in the early 1990s, due to the popularity of American rap. Nevertheless, rap style in Polish music has its deep roots in the 1980s Polish punk rock, alternative rock, disco and funk music. Polish hip-hop artists are well-known performers across Europe, especially in the former Eastern Bloc. Many rappers from Poland are collaborating with artists from Europe, the USA and even Cuba. History The first album by a Polish performer was ''East on the Mic'' by PM Cool Lee, which featured two songs in Polish. Lee was from Kielce, but Warsaw soon emerged as a center for hip hop, after KOLOR, a radio station, began broadcasting '' Kolor Shock'', hosted by Bogna Świątkowska, Paul Jackson, an African American expatriate, Sylvia Opoku from London, and DJ Volt, whose crew, 1kHz, became performing stars in their own right in 1995. Pono Haitsuka
Ryne "Pono" Haitsuka (born 18 July 1991) is an American professional rugby union player. He has played with such teams as Mystic River in the American Rugby Premiership and the San Diego Breakers in the PRO Rugby competition. He has also represented the United States as a member of the United States national rugby sevens team. USA national sevens team Haitsuka attended Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu where he played American football, wrestling, and track and field. He later studied psychology at Oregon State University where he made the switch to rugby. As a member of OSU's rugby team, Haitsuka became a standout player, earning All-American honors in 2013 and a spot on USA Rugby's developmental side at the Serevi RugbyTown 7s. Haitsuka put his collegiate studies on hold to attended the USA 7s training camp at the Olympic Training Center in San Diego and in November 2013, was named to the national team roster. Pono (digital Music Service)
Pono (, Hawaiian word for "proper") was a portable digital media player and music download service for high-resolution audio. It was developed by musician Neil Young and his company PonoMusic, which raised money for development and initial production through a crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter. Production and shipments to backers started in October 2014, and shipments to the general public began in the first quarter of 2015. Pono's stated goal to present songs "as they first sound during studio recording sessions", using "high-resolution" 24-bit 192kHz audio instead of "the compressed audio inferiority that MP3s offer" received mixed reactions, with some describing Pono as a competitor to similar music service such as HDtracks, but others doubting its potential for success.
