Polytechnic is a 2014 Indian Malayalam comedy film directed by M. Padmakumar and produced by Kala Nair. The film stars Kunchacko Boban and Bhavana in the lead roles. The music of the film was composed by Gopi Sundar. K N M & Percy Pictures distributed the film, it was released on 9 April 2014. Plot Pauly belongs to a well off family in a rural village of Kerala. A politician by profession, he does many helpful activities for the benefit of poor people in the village. Sukumaran Nair, a member of the opposition party, tries to disrupt whatever Pauly does. They have been enemies for a very long time. Things become worse when Pauly falls in love with Sukumaran Nair's daughter Aswathy. It is at this circumstance, Pauly's father, an army person is killed in a terrorist attack. Pauly is forced to look after his family. The Nishad are a Hindu caste, found in the Indian states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. In Bihar, the term refers to a group of around 20 communities whose traditional occupations centred on rivers, such as the Mallah. There have been demands for these communities to be reclassified from Other Backwards Classes (OBC) to Scheduled Tribes. In Uttar Pradesh, the term "Nishad" represents 17 OBC communities that have been proposed for Scheduled Caste status by the Samajwadi Party-controlled Government of Uttar Pradesh. Anil Murali (12 April 1964 – 30 July 2020) was an Indian actor in Malayalam cinema. He acted in more than 200 films. He started out in the film industry as a villain before later taking on character roles. He died on 30 July 2020, as a result of liver-related ailments.
