Poltár District (''okres Poltár'') is a district in the south of the Banská Bystrica Region of central Slovakia Slovakia (; sk, Slovensko ), officially the Slovak Republic ( sk, Slovenská republika, links=no ), is a landlocked country in Central Europe. In its present borders exists from 2002, when municipalities Pinciná and Nové Hony were assigned to the Lučenec District. It is the sixth smallest district in Slovakia. Districts Of Slovakia
An okres (in English district) is an administrative unit in Slovakia. It is a second-tier territorial administrative unit, below a Regions of Slovakia, Region in standing, and superior to a municipality. Each district contains at least several municipalities. The cities of Bratislava and Košice are the only cities in Slovakia divided into internal urban districts, with five in Bratislava, and four in Košice. These urban districts are then further divided into smaller boroughs (which serve a function analogous to municipalities in typical districts). All other districts are larger in size and also include rural areas, and rural as well as urban municipalities. Each of these more typical districts has an urban centre serving as the seat of the district, usually the largest town (or the only town) of a given district. Utekáč
Utekáč ( hu, Újantalvölgy) is a village and municipality in the Poltár District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. In the middle of Veporské vrchy, in the narrow valley of the Rimavica river, the village Utekáč is situated. Its name is derived from the ''útek'' (meaning ''escape'') of Hungarian king Bela IV ahead of the Tatars. The first mention about Utekáč is from the year 1593. Development of Utekáč began in 1787 when earl Forgáč came to the territory. He built up a few glassworks from which just the biggest – Clara – is preserved. Aboriginal inhabitants of the glasswork's colony moved in families of glassworks experts from Germany, Hungary, Bohemia and Moravia. Modern history began on 1 January 1993 with establishment of the separate village. Utekáč was only an industrial part of the village Kokava nad Rimavicou before. Šoltýska

Sušany
Sušany ( hu, Susány) is a village in the Poltár District of Slovakia. The village lies in the southern part of the historic area of Malohont, in the valley of the small river Suchá. History The first written notice about the village is from 1407, where it is mentioned as a property of Mikofalvy family. The art of pottery along with agriculture have been the main source of income for local people since the first settlements in the Bronze Age. However, in 1950s the last pottery kiln, called bana, was closed. Considerable part of extant products is kept in the pottery collection in Sušany, placed in the municipal office. Poltár is a town and municipality in the Poltár District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. Geography The town is located in the Southern Slovak basin near the river Ipeľ, south of the Revúcka Hills, which is part of the Slovak Ore Mountains, around from Lučenec.
