Polonia Przemyśl
Polonia Przemyśl is a Polish sports club, located in the south-eastern city of Przemyśl. Founded in 1909, it is one of the oldest sports associations in Poland. History The club, whose hues are white-red-blue, supports two departments - football and men's basketball. The football team plays in IV liga Subcarpathia, while the basketball side plays in the second division. Polonia's basketball team was a powerhouse in Poland in the mid-1990s, when it was second in Poland (1995) and third (1996). The idea of creating a football club came from Lviv, which at the time was under Polish control. The team itself was created by Z. Ritterschild and J. Theobald. The new organization was formed in the fall of 1909, and adopted the name "San" - Przemyśl was still under Austrian rule, the name "Polonia" could not therefore be accepted. Towarzystwo Sportowe Wisła Kraków Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Wisła Kraków (), is a Polish professional football club based in Kraków. It currently competes in the I liga, the second level of Polish football league system. Klub Sportowy Czuwaj is a sports club from the Polish city of Przemyśl, founded by the scouting movement. Originally a multi-sports club with many sections, only the football and handball sections have survived to date. History Origins The club was founded on 30 March 1918 as a sports club of the scouting movement. The name "Czuwaj" means "Be Vigilant", a scout greeting and motto of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association. I liga ( pl, Pierwsza liga, ), currently named Fortuna I liga due to its sponsorship by Fortuna, is the men's second professional association football division of the Polish football league system, below the Ekstraklasa and above the II liga via promotion/relegation systems. III liga (Trzecia liga) is a Polish football league that sits in the fourth tier of the Polish football league system. Until the end of the 2007–08 season, III liga referred to a league at the third tier (now called II liga) but this was changed with the formation of the Ekstraklasa as the top level league in Poland.
