Frans Weisz
Frans Weisz (born 23 July 1938) is a Dutch film director. He has directed more than 30 films since 1964. His 1975 film '' Red Sien'' was entered into the 9th Moscow International Film Festival. His film '' Havinck'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section the 1988 Cannes Film Festival. His 1993 film '' The Betrayed'' was entered into the 43rd Berlin International Film Festival. Weisz is Jewish. During the war he was hiding with his parents on a farm in Limburg. They were discovered, Frans managed to escape but his parents were captured. They were transported to Auschwitz concentration camp, his mother survived, his father did not. Judith Herzberg
Judith Frieda Lina Herzberg (born 4 November 1934) is a Dutch poet and writer. Life and work Judith Herzberg is the daughter of lawyer and writer Abel Herzberg. During World War II Herzberg went into hiding on various locations. Since 1983 Herzberg lives alternately in the Netherlands and Israel. She mainly writes poems and plays, and also works on films. Herzberg debuted in 1961 as a poet in the weekly ''Vrij Nederland''. Two years later, she published her first poetry collection, ''Zeepost''. She also wrote the plays ''Leedvermaak'', ''Charlotte'' and '' Rijgdraad'', which were made into films by Frans Weisz. ''Charlotte'' is about the painter Charlotte Salomon who was murdered in Auschwitz. In 1997 Herzberg received the P. C. Hooft Award for her entire oeuvre. Annet Nieuwenhuijzen (7 November 1930 – 5 August 2016) was a Dutch actress. Biography Nieuwenhuijzen was born on 7 November 1930 in Utrecht.. She received no formal training as an actress, and her career began in 1953 after being spotted at a student play in Amsterdam. Soon thereafter, she performed at the Haagse Comedie, het Rotterdams Toneel, Globe, Publiekstheater, and Toneelgroep Amsterdam. Nieuwenhuyzen earned the Theo d'Or award twice, in 1965 and 1975. She received the Golden Calf for her role in the film ''Leedvermaak''. A versatile actress, she played tragedies, comedies, and musicals and bore the prestigious Theo Mann-Bouwmeester ring. Nieuwenhuyzen was long the partner of the television presenter Kick Stokhuyzen. She married theater historian Xandra Knebel in 2012. Nieuwenhuyzen died on 5 August 2016. Rijk de Gooyer (17 December 1925 – 2 November 2011) was a Dutch Golden Calf-winning actor, writer, comedian and singer. From the 1950s until the early 1970s, he became well known in The Netherlands as part of a comic duo with John Kraaijkamp, Sr. In the United States best known for having small roles in films such as '' Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht'', ''Soldaat van Oranje'', '' A Time to Die'' and ''The Wilby Conspiracy''.
