Polly Wright
Polly, sometimes called Polly Wright in spin-off material, is a fictional character played by Anneke Wills in the long-running British science fiction television series '' Doctor Who''. She is a young woman from the year 1966 and was a companion of the First and Second Doctors. Polly was a regular in the television program from 1966 to 1967. Polly appeared in 9 stories (36 episodes). The only serial featuring Polly which is currently complete in the BBC archive is her first, ''The War Machines''. Appearances Television Polly first appeared in the First Doctor serial, ''The War Machines'', where she plays the role of Professor Brett's secretary. Brett develops the artificial intelligence known as WOTAN, and Polly meets the Doctor (William Hartnell) and Dodo ( Jackie Lane) when they come to investigate it. Barbara Wright (Doctor Who)
Barbara Wright is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'' and a companion of the First Doctor. She was one of the programme's first regulars and appeared in the bulk of its first two seasons from 1963–65, played by Jacqueline Hill. Barbara appeared in 16 stories (74 episodes). In the film version of one of the serials, ''Dr. Who and the Daleks'' (1965), Barbara was played by actress Jennie Linden, but with a very different personality and backstory, which includes her being a granddaughter of "Dr Who". Frazer Hines
Frazer Simpson Frederick Hines (born 22 September 1944) is an English actor. He began his career as a child actor and appeared in ''A King in New York'' (1957) with Charlie Chaplin. He later played Jamie McCrimmon in '' Doctor Who'', appearing in 117 episodes of the series, more than any other companion. He was a regular in the series alongside Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor between 1966 and 1969, and made guest appearances in the 1980s stories ''The Five Doctors'' and ''The Two Doctors''. He also had a long-running role as Joe Sugden in ''Emmerdale Farm'' between 1972 and 1994. Early life and career Hines was born in Horsforth, a north-west suburb of Leeds in the West Riding of Yorkshire, the third son of Bill and Molly Hines. Jamie McCrimmon
James Robert McCrimmon, usually simply called Jamie, is a fictional character played by Frazer Hines in the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. A piper of the Clan MacLeod who lived in 18th-century Scotland, he was a companion of the Second Doctor and a regular in the programme from 1966 to 1969. The spelling of his surname varies from one script to another; it is alternately rendered as Macrimmon and McCrimmond. Jamie appeared in 20 stories (112 episodes). Character history James Robert McCrimmon was the son of Donald McCrimmon—a piper, like his father and his father's father. Jamie first appears in '' The Highlanders'', encountering the Doctor, Ben and Polly in the aftermath of the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
