Politically Direct
''Politically Direct'' is a weekly radio talk show that airs Sunday afternoons on the Air America Radio network. David Bender serves as host. The show originally aired on weekends but eventually was moved to an 8-9 PM nightly slot. In May 2007 the show was cancelled in favor of a show called '' The Air Americans'', to which Bender was also a contributor. (That show was cancelled in August 2007.) ''Politically Direct'' returned to Air America on June 8, 2008, as a replacement for the cancelled '' Seder on Sundays'' program. The show airs in Seder's former timeslot of 4 to 7 PM. Bender returned to host, leaving his position on accompanying weekend show ''Ring of Fire'' to do so. Background Politically Direct started as a weekend show on Air America in 2005. Air America (formerly Air America Radio and Air America Media) was an radio in the United States, American radio network specializing in progressive talk radio. It was on the air from March 2004 to January 2010. The network was founded as a left wing alternative to counter talk radio with a right wing perspective. Air America featured programs with monologues by on-air personalities, guest interviews, call-ins from listeners, and news reports. Several shows had million plus audiences, and multiple weekday presenters continued on in radio, television, or politics after their time on Air America. David Bender
David Bender is an American political activist, author and former host of the talk radio show ''Politically Direct'' on Air America Radio. Political activism David Bender's five-decade career as a political activist began at the age of twelve when he took a "leave of absence" from the seventh grade to become a full-time volunteer in the presidential campaign of Senator Robert F. Kennedy. Four years later, as a high school reporter, Mr. Bender covered the presidential campaigns of Richard Nixon, George McGovern and Hubert Humphrey. He was literally a "boy on the bus," traveling in the company of such journalistic legends as Walter Cronkite and Eric Sevareid. The Sam Seder Show
''The Majority Report with Sam Seder'' is an Internet talk radio program and podcast hosted by Sam Seder. The program focuses on the discussion of current events and political affairs from a social democratic, democratic socialist and a progressive standpoint; to this end, comedy and satire are used from time to time to make key points. Venice was started in Venice, California in 1977 by cousins Michael Lennon (born 17 July 1959) and Kipp Lennon (born 12 March 1960).
